    The one with less attempts?
The whole team (maybe sans Tari) is scared. They really should ask Mike D’Antoni to come in and instill some confidence in them. His guys missed 27 in a row and kept firing.

This is like what one post stated that the Rockets' outside shooters are not good so they need to trade Sengun. It is mind-boggling sometimes.

I think Bari misses because he is scared. His confidence is shattered. He seems to have realized he is not as good as he thought when he was drafted.

T-mac was ahead of his time. Fix the shooter's eye, Crane!

We have seen some of the young players get better at not forcing shots, but then they get self-conscious about shot selection which leads to the whole shot-selection psychology problem.

If Jabari isn't seeing a sports therapist during the season, something is wrong. He needs the help.

I still think the coaches should spend extra time in practice working on basic-to-advanced fast break mechanics: running lanes, corner 3s, how to push the ball, where everyone on the court should be to get into a modified fast break, etc. With our team makeup, clarifying everyone's role would do wonders for shooting percentages and morale.

The goal should be to have the best overall fastbreak in the league. With our athletes and depth, why not?

Closest defender is a weird stat. It makes us think those are Catch-n-Shoot threes. For most players it is, but not ball handlers like Jalen.
    • Jalen is shooting 40% on C&S threes
    • So, for Jalen to be shooting 29% on Wide Open 3s, then a lot of them must be off the dribble
    • imo, that can only mean that the SportsVu trackers will disregard primary defenders when successfully picked, and they might even count some step-backs as Wide Open.
Also, I’ve been told that the shot distance doesn’t matter wrt closest defender. So an Eric Gordon-style 28’ shot could still be called “Wide Open”.

Maybe we should bring back the ketchup and mustard colors and color the paint in plain mustard?

I think it might be linked with lack of movement (ball and player) in our offense. Not everyone is built like PJ, just fine standing still and waiting for a ball without getting anxious. Adding some plays for Bari, Read and Jalen to come of the screens to shoot from their favorite spots might just unlock them.

Eye-test checks out. I've had 0 confidence in Jabari's ability to hit an open 3 for nearly his whole 3 years here. And in the 4th quarters he seemingly is one of the least clutch players I can remember. I think if we haven't already signed him up with a Sports Psychologist it needs to be on speed dial at this point. And yes, Amen or Tari needs to be starting.

Jalen, I'm less concerned about. He gets too excited on the open 3's. I'd rather him take a contested Step-back over a 7footer. He has the JR Smith disease where his % is better when it's a more difficult shot.

The overall stats page has video links. If someone wants to watch Jalen's first 197 shots (and 96 three-point attempts), feel free. I think it's fascinating that they list the players who have picked up assists as they've passed to Jalen:

Jalen Green Assisted by FGM (the page above has the video links, too).

That's 11 games, and Jabari and Dillon have three total assists to Jalen. This is a broken offense.

Yes but percentage wise as a whole Jalen is shooting better this year from three than last year. He is hovering 34-35% while last year and years prior he was low 33%.

Jabari is the only one who is way down from previous years so it’s lazy to just blame the coaches for players not working on their game.

Worth 2 pts and then only 1 because of his stupid ass tech. Tired of IG ballers, get me some real talent.

Dunk on some dudes head often brings the energy up....motivates the rest of the team.

Not sure Tari and Amen were going off first or Jalen Green.

Regardless it's the lowly Wiz in which one point didn't matter as the Rockets throttled them.

Same thing last year when Jalen dunked on Anfernee Simmons and the Rockets throttled the Blazers.

How is his gravity NOT helping them? They are getting 6+ ft of space because of Sengun. Them not hitting an open shot is their own damn faults.

Who would have thought that the Rox best 3-point shooter is Tari?

Also Green increased his volume while increasing his 3PT% and FT%. Clear signs.

If you want 3-pt shooting put Uncle Jeff and Holiday on the court. It's just that easy.

That number actually kinda makes me more optimistic on Bari. I mean the dude was a significantly improved 36% 3P shooter last season. If he's missing his open ones, it's more evidence he's just in a slump (only been 11 games). Or else it could be a mental block that could take more time to work through.
