I still think he is one of the best young talents in this league and an elite capable QB but I truly believe he is being humbled this season…. Besides some of the obvious things, he needs to show some fire and passion on the field…He has the teams respect, so nothing wrong with a little fire…His demeanor on the field is too laid back I feel… Also, maybe it’s me, but does he ever audible anything…? Red Zone offense stinks, part of it is OC and O-Line, but Stroud could do better…They need to work on this all week, all practice, day and night lol… Sorry for the separate thread gang, just wanted to see if any others felt the same way…
Part of his regression I feel is because his internal clock is getting out of whack due to anticipating quick pressure to the point where even when he has time he rushes things. That part of it is on him to fix. But the O-line suckage absolutely is the largest contributing factor and it is risking his long term development. This is a dangerous and possibly franchise altering situation if it is not corrected asap.
I agree, I think the offseason hype machine got to him. He has been under intense pressure, so nothing he does looks as good. I think he will come around with more help. He is definitely having a rough season so far. A little humility never hurt anybody. I am more disappointed in Demeco. He has become very defensive, and appears stubborn about changes.
After thumbing through OPs comment history Im going to chalk this up to propaganda. No offense OP, but you miss on a ton of hot takes.
just very frustrated with this talented team my man…I guess it makes me feel better!! Win or loss, we have looked bad regardless… I genuinely never expected Stroud to look this bad…The regression is real but next year we will find out who he truly is, and i expect him to start peaking next season, regardless of OC…
The real cause: Most pressures at the point of the snap and Nico +Diggs+ Mixon have played only 2 games together. And we won't see Diggs ever again in a Texan uniform. Must make the best of the situation and win the division.
I don't mean to "Well, actually..." you here - but they've played *seven* quarters with those three - not even two full games! Through the first seven quarters, they were averaging 6.86 points/quarter. Since - and it includes a 41-point against NE: 5.36. That's a difference of 6 points/game! It's 21.4 v 27.4 p/g. They've lost three games by a combined 13 points! There are *issues*. But!... If Nico and Mixon can get/stay healthy... the defense looks legit; the OL played better in the first half against Detroit; Metchie *may* be a capable Diggs fill-in... It's not about being the best/hottest team in early November. It's about being the healthiest/hottest team in January.
