Tari coming back from injury as an excuse for us to artificially keep his minutes down and bring him off the bench could suppress his extension this summer enough to keep our finances in check. That’s the only reason I’m ok with keeping Jabari in the starting lineup, although anything more than 25 mpg may hurt our chances of making the playoffs so it is a tough balance for Ime.
JaBust 2-10 1-7 from 3 damn near wide open every shot too. I wouldn't even bother to practice if I was Jabari, what's the point when Ime is going to give you 30 undeserved mins no matter what. safest job in the league, bar none.
I've been extremely patient with Jabari, I thought he showed a ton of progress last season so I wasn't as down as everybody else given his age. Massive disappointment this season, even putting poor shooting aside the rest of his game has shown no growth. He still gets bodied too easily on drives, and he hardly uses face up middies, even when he has the mismatch. The Rockets aren't gonna give up on him and sell low...but he's been bad.
Absolutely should not be starting. Bust. Hopefully can be helpful in a trade as possible potential for destination team.
The thing is, Tari has ALWAYS been better. It's crazy how long being a 3rd pick vs. a 17th pick keeps you ahead.
