They actually did, I assume Scruggs was not communicating effectively and Patterson did, they still need upgrades in the off season but this was much better
The positive is we are much improved in the pass blocking. Saw us pick up stunts which were killing us all season with lesser Green and Scruggs at center. The negative is we can’t block for ish in the run game. This might have caused Mixon to get frustrated.
I'm all on board with making upgrades. My plan would be to draft a LT like Wyatt Milum and let him train at LG for a year, then take over for Tunsil at LT in 2026. I would also bring in Zack Martin to play RG.
Every team calls out protections before the snap, right? Are the Texans the only ones being painfully obvious about it?
Interesting story. Never gave up a sack at Notre Dame in 3000 snaps. Some guys are just better at read and recognition skills to call out the assignments. I saw him more active at barking out alignments than Scruggs had been. Juice should make a fine guard. The whole unit needs some continuity. Hope it gels over the next month.
It probably went something like Patterson doing his best code talker: "Redrum Ringo watch Sam." And then Tytus at the line was like "Hey Pat, is that the rollout right play we've been working on all week? I got u!"
