AUSAR THOMPSON ROUND 1. PICK 5. DRAFTED BY DETROIT PISTONS POSITION: G-F HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6-7 / 205 lbs SCHOOL/CLUB: Overtime Elite COUNTRY: USA STATUS Overtime Elite BIRTHDAY: 01/30/2003
I’m really high on both brothers. Think they will be special I wanted Ausar if we didn’t get Amen. Hopefully we can have both one day
Friendly reminder that Ausar was supposed to be the better shooting twin. What causes this? How is it possible to shoot this bad? Who taught them to shoot the ball? Embiid learned shooting by watching YouTube videos. Maybe they should do the same.
My understanding is the twins had professional coaches during ote. Reports are also that they were gym rats, so I don't think effort is the issue. Maybe they will find something in different technique that will help them. The scouting is to sag. To be fair, I think Ausar and Detroit knows it's something he needs to work on, and hence he's not taking too many 3's per game.
ESPN: "Detroit Pistons rookie forward Ausar Thompson will miss the remainder of the season while being treated for a blood clot, the team announced Wednesday. According to the Pistons, Thompson has been cleared to resume conditioning and will begin non-contact basketball activities at the conclusion of the regular season. He is expected to be ready to return before next season."
No timetable: he's still out. "Ausar Thompson blood clot update: Detroit Pistons forward out for start of training camp" "He’s going through a medical process with the league and the (NBA) Players Association right now," Langdon said. "We’re supporting him as much as possible and just waiting for the resolution from the NBA and the PA. We’re excited and look forward to having Ausar back. This time I just can’t say any more to that as we’re just looking for a resolution to that process." Langdon said the process has been going on for about a week. Thompson is allowed to do conditioning and strength training, and "a lot of non-contact drills." Shortly after Langdon spoke, Thompson, 21, took his turn in front of media and discussed his situation. “It’s not really in our hands,” he said. “No timeline right now. "Ever since what happened, happened, I've been working out and have slowly progressed the workouts to be harder and harder. Right now I feel great, I feel perfectly fine."
For Detroit/Ausar, it's Fred Vinson. He was the big name shot doctor that Pistons got last summer. Even before Bickerstaff was picked head coach.
