Pretty sure you meant to quote me, not yourself. If we go Mobley at 2, we don’t draft Sengun, the BPA from that draft. It’s not complicated.
Even if you’re ready to declare which is BPA at 22 yrs old (I’m not), then yes, there are instances where not going BPA works out. Such as taking a guard and later taking a center who happens to end up being the best player in the class.
but he would complement sengun so well is what I'm saying and give us the shot blocking 4 we really need.
Hmm. Alperen is slowly working himself into the hierarchy again. I hope this stagnant offense forces some more Princeton actions. Every inverted pick and roll we run, we score. How about we let Jabari set a screen for Alperen so we can get him some shots too? Does every damn play have to start with the guards dribbling the clock out? I look forward to a future where Amen drives the ball to the rim like a madman 35 times a game, and the rest is Alperen Princeton sets and some JG/Alperen pick-and-roll when we need it. IMO, not a single player on the Houston Rockets looks comfortable on offense, and we are 6-4. Figure it out Ime.
I just don't understand why he has to do this every season. He's clearly the best player on the team. But every season, whoever the coach is, tries to force Jalen Green as "the guy".
Rewind back to 2021 At ,#2 if mobley was the best player on the board foe the rockets then they pick him If at #16 if sengun was still available then rockets pick him
Can Ime Udoka draw up some plays to get Alperen some good looks that are not bailouts from the guards after dribbling for 18 seconds? Or ****, how about we give Alperen the ball and let some of these guys make some cuts for a few easy baskets? I'm sure the JGOF are with me on this. Hell, why not a few more inverted pick and rolls? It's not that difficult. You have one of 3 bigs in the NBA that can make decisions better than most guards. USE HIM. INVERT THE OFFENSE. If you want to play pick and roll guard ball, go back to Bruno, baby! (We don't talk about Bruno no-no-no...)
Interesting comment from r/WhiteKnightRedditor on the pistons subreddit: "Every time Sengun gets subbed out the Rockets collapse" Even other fans see how bad the minutes for Sengun are.
Other fans are correct. The refs forced some of that last game. Landale and Adams have both been putrid so far. That’s not to say it is a permanent problem, but it has been a problem this year. It is out of Ime’s character to go with the hot hand or, at least, sit guys that are obviously having a bad night, but for us to make the playoffs, he needs more urgency to win games now and quit subbing back in units that are failing for the ones that catch us back up. It sucks away momentum and basketball is a momentum game.
