The postgame interview was weird. Someone asked a question, and then the second guy asked basically the same question. It seems they never ask any slightly uncomfortable question like "why is Jabari still getting that many minutes" or "why is Jabari averaging more minutes than Alpi"?

So you guys actually think sports journalists are like actual journalists that are pursuing the truth or something lmao?? The team and the org holds all the power in this relationship, the reporters gain nothing by being hard ass and asking the tough questions - they would lose their access to everything in a heartbeat the moment they are perceived to be a hassle. This isn't real journalism, none of those guys will break a Watergate level story or expose some injustice that will make everyone rally behind them.

Also, we all know how these will go at this point - shots aren't falling, instead we have to hustle in defense because the galaxy brain of Udoka has figured out that it's not worth trying to do anything on offense because it's either shots falling or not and it's all luck and all the other coaches are dumb, the young guys aren't hustling enough, FVV took great shots love him but all the other young guys suck and still make rookie mistakes blah blah

So it’s clear from that media session that Ime is not happy. He’s tired of the poor shooting. I think he could do more to put us in a better position offensively, but I just don’t think we can expect massive shooting improvement with the current personnel.

consider that we just extended two guys at near max money who aren’t good long range shooters. Our #3 pick now in year 3 that we drafted for shooting has no touch on his shot. Amen is the future but he can’t shoot.

of the core 7 Reed is the only pure shooter. Tari is improving. Fred and Dillon can shoot but Fred especially is off to a poor start. That’s really all we’ve got. It’s a pretty significant deficiency.

do you think Ime wants to trade for more shooting?

"Shots not falling" is an excuse a good shooting team makes when they have a bad night. If a team naturally sucks at 3pt shooting miss a lot of 3s, that's just lack of ability on display.

Jalen is shooting 37% on 9 freaking attempts a night that isn't a good shooter to you?

The reason we have a deficiency are because Aaron Holiday is getting benched for Reed Sheppard who is shooting 1.6 attempts a night and more importantly FVV who is the love of Ime's life is shooting a career worst 29% from 3.

If he isnt happy he should look at the mirror it's all self inflicted. The good news its an easy fix to just get a competent pg I'm sure Stone can get someone if nothing improves by the deadline.

Any win is good, but squeaking past a crap team isn't where we want to be. There are issues with the offense.
Maybe you branded the whole thread from the OP?

This is a fair point, however, FVV, Jabari, Alpe, Cam, are all shooting below (well below) career averages. That's about 1/3 of the team's attempts per game, most of the starting lineup and the guy you'd expect to be a bench scoring force. Not that this is to be confused with a good shooting team but it's also fair to say there's a bit of underperformance going on.

At the same time, Green, Brooks, and Tari are all shooting above their career averages. Overall they're shooting worse, and their typical game wouldn't be THIS bad. But the Rockets were ranked 23rd in 3pt% last year and 25th this year. And when you're that bad you will have games like this due to game to game variance.

Personally, I wouldn't think too much of Udoka's comments except he seems to say it a lot. And when shots are always not falling, that's not a luck issue.

That’s dissatisfying to hear. I mean even in smaller market OKC, they routinely asked the tough questions when Russ was there. lol, now that was some entertainment

Water finds its level and all that. I don't disagree with your point though.
