A bit different than the preseason plus/minus stats...

    Offensive Rating: 15th
    Defensive Rating 6th
Opponent 3PT%: 15th (This was used last year to discredit our defensive improvements)

6-4 leaves me hopeful because we can't throw it in the ocean from three right now and the next 10 games are very winnable.

It’s weird to see Adams so low. It feels like we are always better when he plays.

I feel like Adams is such a mixed bag, sometimes so useful like when he sets scree, then so slow and unatheletic that he is unable to even grab rebounds. Hope he gets healthier as the season goes on

It makes zero sense to me what Ime is doing, subbing out Alpi for Jabari "for defense".

Among regular players, Alpi has (by far) the most screen assists, second most deflections, most charges drawn, most shots contested.

Alpi leads the league in total box outs.

If you look at per 36 numbers he is on par with tari and Fred on deflections, which is fantastic. Reed is even better than all 3.

Sorry, but you obviously don't know what you're watching if that's your takeaway in Adams' minutes.

    He has been horrendous defensively.

I rolled my eyes when out of the timeout Jabari strutted back onto the court and Sengun went to the bench.

Ime's rotations and minutes are just a clown show right now.

No one likes to talk about it, but it is why Memphis essentially benched him at times.

Still, good situational Nene to have on the roster.

It is pretty clear Rox could be winning more games if we used Holiday more but we are investing in Reed Sheppard even if it drags the team down.

I'm ok with that however it seems the coaching staff also isnt giving Sheppard directions on how to play he still looks very timid and would pass up open shots. I dunno if this is a confidence thing but he needs to stop doing that.

Nobody except Booby would hate him if he starts clanking shots but he wont improve if he doesnt even try.

I think he was better pre injury but its really bad now.

The sad thing is Jock is getting affected from not knowing if he will play or not. Ime should give Adams a month off or something and tell Jock he will be the guy until ASB or something.

Per minute, no one gets more deflections on the Houston Rockets than Reed Sheppard.

The offensive comfortability isn't there yet, but clearly, the coaching staff has seen enough behind the scenes to believe it will come.

If he gets the most deflections why is his plus minus always negative? Keep in mind he backs up FVV who has been godawful this season and he shares the court with Tari and Amen who always make a great impact.

Clearly, Steve Nash at age 24, shooting 36-37-83 for an entire 40-game sample was indicative of the rest of his awful career. Good grief, we aren't looking for the finished product with RS right now. We are looking for bits of progress, game by game, week by week, month by month.

The same goes for all these guys. Looking for signs with Reed? Here are a few...

    1. Rough start for the whole team on offense. RS still shooting 42.4% from the field. 35.3% from three. That's better than JG's career percentages. o_O:p
    2. 2/1 A2T, without controlling the ball. Showing excellent decision-making and on-point passes.
    3. Nose for the ball. Per minute deflection king on the Houston Rockets.

People never told Steve Nash he was gonna be a multi time allstar because of his deflections.

You are trying to make it like I'm a Sheppard doubter and thinks he will never break out. I keep saying there is a chance he will improve. BUT, the reality is he sucks RN. No amount of you trying to gaslight people will change that.

What I have an issue is you saying his deflections mean he has great anticipation, feel and talent and will be offensively efficient because of it. Those are different things and just having deflections isnt an indicator he will be able to be the offensive scorer we expected him to be. He cant even score inside rn deflections or no deflections. He needs to work on his offense it doesnt matter if his defense is good if his offense sucks ass.

    JG rookie year: 55TS%
    Sheppard rookie year: 51 TS%

Not only did rookie JG score on much higher volume he was also a lot more efficient than Sheppard is RN.

Imagine If he did have that ability though?

They would certainly bring it up in conversation and use that data to evaluate him, right?

RS has a unique set of skills. Let's look at everything he does, not just one or two things...

We did not draft RS for shooting. We drafted him for EVERYTHING HE DOES.

Will he be able to make an impact even If his shot isn't falling? I bet you Ime Udoka thinks so... RS has that dawg in him, along with the skill stuff. It's going to come out here very soon.

    (Sorry for the derail errrybody...)
