He deserves better from Rockets fans. Dude brings great defense and a reliable three point shot every game.

Most underappreciated guy on the roster by far. Fortunately, the coach recognizes what the fans don't.

I appreciate Dillon and he's doing great, his competitive fire, defense, and contributions each night are appreciated. Just try to have an objective view of players in comparison to be honest, but I was glad we signed him back when Many fans hated it.

Brooks still doesnt make sense. Ugly stats, high rate of fouls, poor rebounder for his position, decent 3 not good, bad shot selection trying to create. Lots of role player guys at least some kind of "intangible" stat to explain their effectiveness (like PJ Tucker "corner 3"). Brooks has none of that, but can still see he benefits the team

I can’t believe people are still posting this drivel. He literally has the best on off stats of anyone getting major minutes for the Rockets. He just posted a +14, best on the team. He is incredibly valuable thus far and anyone who can’t see that is blind.

Yo I'm not having that "drivel" talk lol. By intangible stat, I meant a stat more physically attributed to the player. Like deflections, steal rate, box-outs, close-outs, offensive boards, something of that sort. Plus-minus is good, and a bottom line. But that can be attributed to other players too. So I personally didnt count that

I suppose plays without giving the other team the ball counts as a good intangible stat. Brooks has a very low turnover %. Meaning he will only shoot at the rim, or make a safe swing pass to a teammate. His attempts at slashing & turnaroud jumpers are bad, I count that as bad shot selection. But it at least goes at the rim, with Rockets a good offensive rebounding team to possibly retain possession. Just this is how much it has to go to put a "stat" in Brooks's name lol. But if it works I'm fine with it

Dillon Brooks is living proof you can't just box score watch like what Booby has been doing his entire life. He gets a bad rap because he isn't that efficient and he is bad at rebounding, 2 metrics pretty much all advanced stats love. Even worse his backups are Amen Thompson and Tari Eason, 2 of the best analytical darlings in the NBA.

However if you actually watch the game and understand how basketball is played you will see Brooks is a really good player and one of the best players on the team thus far. He always gets to guard the opponent best player and always makes heads up plays that help the team. Yes he isn't that efficient, but he takes low volume of shots anyway and his 3 is actually the best it's ever been at 37%. Lots of posters here wanted him to be traded but so far the dude has delivered and more than overproduced his salary.

The only complaint I have is 30 mpg for him is too much IMO, I think he is at his best 25 mins or less so he can go all out. If he gets a lot of PT just like FVV he tends to start pacing himself and playing with less intensity. We have 2 really good players in Amen and Tari who also deserve 30 mins a night so I think Ime should lessen his load and give it to the 2 other young guns.

Bari has super low value, kinda like JG for most of last year. It's better to keep him and sign him for cheap and hope he improves.

You buy low sell high you don't buy high sell low.

Do you see any indication that he will improve though?

No more Dillon Brooks slander. He may not be the franchise player but he is doing his job perfectly well. Underrated part of our defensive toughness. Terror Twins deservedly overshadowed him a little so far.

Yeah, I could see the refs blowing the whistle on any of those. Especially in a playoff series, when the other team starts pointing it out to the refs after a few games.

Too bad that he is going to be 32 when everyone is turning 25.

Enigmatic player but reined in by a HOF coach.

But there is nothing he does that he can't do at 34. Twenty minutes off the bench.

Theoretically but you know like the rest of us that the NBA can change dramatically in 1 season.

Teams become contenders by just 1 or 2 seasons thru trades.......

    Only rebuilding teams take longer.

I do not think he can keep that up .....he never had the history of playing every year with the same efficiency.

Defensively yes but not on Offense.

Incidentally, are the Vipers considered a franchise?
