The timing is interesting. OKC has a big lineup and Cam may have been needed tonight. For it to happen now maybe he's been giving off negative vibes in the locker room. If this article is true about the Rockets going after Ingram then I can see Cam being shipped out as one of the players. Rockets are going to have to give up a good player or two for an upgrade. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nba...l-star-trade-rockets/8e0dc5aac76ba4e2d49373d8
If you read that article closely, it doesn’t say New Orleans is considering trading Ingram to the Rockets. It’s one of those carefully worded stories where the reporter is hypothetically suggesting such a trade. Very disappointing for the Sporting News.
I know he came out missing every 3 pointer he took, but I still find myself wondering if part of what the Rockets are doing by benching him is hiding him before the deadline so that he isn't among the guys teams are demanding when a star becomes available.
Same as Reed Sheppard if they don't start making 3's. Hit the road Jack, and don't you come back no more no more no more
We’re not going after Ingram. He’s ina contract year and want full max money. He’s not taking no paycut or sweet hard deal for Stone.
Um... Duh. Nobody said anything about him potentially coming to Houston for a discount. This doesn't mean the Rockets wouldn't be interested. They damn sure didn't give FVV a pay cut (he's currently getting paid more than Ingram), so you really didn't make a good point there my guy. Even if they aren't interested in Ingram, the Rockets need to make changes to this roster asap if they plan on making the playoffs. If that means making some moves so you can get a star on the team, (by trading FVV, Brooks or whoever) you do it whether they want max money or not. This starting lineup isn't gonna cut it.
Simply not that good at this point. Inconsistent and can’t shoot - literally. Doesn’t play within the flow of the offense. Doesn’t have offensive awareness to make plays for others or find open players. Reminds me of Michael Beasley but Beasley was a scoring expert. Cam isn’t this yet. May take more time to develop but can be an intriguing trade piece for teams.
No to going after Ingram. Giving up assets on an expiring, aging one time allstar so that we MIGHT make the play-in would be a stupid panic move. Something very surprising will have to happen for the Rockets to make a blockbuster trade before the end of the season. It is much more important for the Rockets to continue to develop their young core than make the playoffs this year.
Yes. It was my fear in the beginning and why I was a proponent of trading Brooks before the season started and limiting FVV’s minutes. Save Ime from himself. He’ll make the necessary changes after wasting a quarter to half of a season and we probably won’t make the playoffs anyway and will have wasted another partial season. Ime was very successful at changing the mindset of this team, but his conservative nature and bad bench coaching is really costing us. It sure would be nice to have more time to evaluate our youngsters before we have to sign or trade them. We are not competing this year, we are still re-building.
Nothing you'd get back for him would even be close to what his potential is. I wouldn't move him unless he becomes a distraction, which hasn't happened yet, but somehow feels very possible.
Also disappointing - the Sporting News effectively going out of business in 2012 and being kept alive as a zombie content mill brand. Probably a lot of Llm trash now I actually remember back in the old days, both reading the magazine and going to the website - it was like, 2nd browse tier after ESPN. They had good columnists
