He is not serving any purpose posting up at the 3 point line. I am sick of seeing him trying to dribble past defender from the perimeter because that’s clearly not his game. He plays like Giannis but in super slow motion right now and it is tough to watch.
Needs to learn how to post up? Or be allowed to post up? Guess you don't have much of a memory since it was only a couple of games ago he was force fed in the post down the stretch for the only time this season, and he dominated. You're asking for exactly what a lot of people are asking for, your theory that he doesn't know how to do it is what's incorrect though.
Goodness gracious. First it was he needs to shoot the 3, now he needs to post. Which is it people? Post and kick to open shooters or sit at the 3 point line to have open lanes for drivers like Jalen? One or the other folks, but can't complaint about both.
1. He needs to work with analytics to find his hot spots from 3. Take 2-3 a game. No hesitation, just shoot. You can attempt a couple drives from that far out. Or initiate a couple inverted PnRs. That should be his strategy for the plays on the perimeter. He absolutely needs more post ups and work from the elbow. And by he, I mean WE (Ime) needs to build an offense around his passing. We aren’t taking advantage of his abilities.
Jalen needs to learn how to make wide open shots. Jalen needs to learn defense. Jalen needs to learn how to pass. Jalen needs to put together more that two game sin a row playing well.
Interesting takeaway, I actually think his dribble drive is really good and results in good shots, but he just misses them. He's had a problem missing bunnies since his rookie year and it's still a massive problem with his game. Obviously it's worse so far this year than it ever has been before, but its not like he's failing to get good looks. He just misses so many of them. The same has been true for his post up game though. I think his post up game is good. But he just misses way too many shots that he should make.
He certainly posts up. He just hasn’t been as effective as he was last year. Couldn’t move Sohan or Luka-2 players smaller than him. That’s reason to be concerned
Where he stands without the ball, he should be standing outside paint then muscle himself and move underneath the basket and receive the pass for a easy hook. Alperen Sengun is really injured, he can't dunk, his back injury is a huge concern.
Thieves want him to post up, that way he is just dribbling slowly with his back to the basket and ripe for the picking.
