The Rockets have been using Brooks on a lot of big men so far. I've not paid too much attention to Sengun, but assume he's "on" a non-shooter pushing around anyone that gets close to the paint. If someone drives, he's been there to contest. Not sure if that is athletism as I expect it is just him being there already.
You are confusing the truth with being sour and I hate that you guys do that on this board. Jalen is judged differently here. Cam Whitmore does not get the same chance as Jalen. At this point Cam is Jalen if Jalen werent a default starter and wasnt forgiven immediately for his mistakes. The fact that you dont see that shows the bias that goes on in this group for certain players. to the point where if you say the truth about them people view it as hate. you guys did the same with KPJ. Now KPJ is barely getting minutes off the bench on another team and the fanbase there hates him and wants him gone. Jalen isnt KPJ but he isnt the star you guys try to make him out to be. right now he is basically a streaky zach lavine with less efficiency. thats the truth. if that truth changes I will happily acknowledge it.
Do you notice how you don't actually explain how you come to your conclusions with basketball talk...like actual on court talk of their abilities and limitations from your observations. You are just stating matter of fact statements without explanation. For example how do you expect Cam to play Green's role when he can't maintain a live dribble in tight half court sets when multiple defenders are trying to reach for the ball when you are navigating pnr sets as the primary ball handler? Like how do you expect Cam to even take over Green's role when he has basic skills set limitations. Like the most basic limitations that are obvious when you examine him on the court. Cam already as someone who doesn't have to handle the ball in half court sets much averages more turnovers than assists in his career and now you think him now having to secure the ball while navigating set half court defenses with multiple defenders squared in on him is going to work?
I can’t imagine watching Cam Whitmore and thinking he could be Green. They are so completely different that the comparison makes no sense at all.
Most likely just a slow start from range. He has a decade of history showing he's above average from 3, including last season with the Rockets being one of his best seasons. He should turn the corner soon,
Cam plays more like Carmelo Anthony than Jalen Green so the difference in play style isn't even about being a better player. In fact I expect Cam in a iso wing clear out where a offensive player has to just beat one single defender to score at the rim in a tight half court space to score more consistently than Jalen in that specific type of situation because in that specific situation strength is more important than agility. It's very hard to beat 6'8" athletic defenders in a iso wing clear out situation in a a half court space with pure agility and speed. You need strength at that point to score consistently. This is a certain archetype of player though. This means that a guy like prime Carmelo Anthony is more dangerous than someone like Ja Morant in a iso clear out situation also. Ja compared to a stronger bigger guard like SGA or Luka will struggle more in those iso clear out situations where you are isolated in the wing because in hose situations strength has a larger role in a "iso bag" than agility and quickness. The type of ways guys like Green, Fox and Ja are agile benefits them in stuff like pnr sets where multiple defenders are trying to swipe and disrupt the handle where they can use their agility to navigate around and make defenders miss. But in a very stationary iso situation that advantage of agility becomes less significant and the advantage of strength becomes more significant.
We? I didn’t pay ****. I’m grateful that you and Tilman brought him here though he really has helped shape a new era of basketball for us to watch.
Get over it. Cam can start as an sg on the Rockets and be just as successsful as Green. Green has just been given every chance. We dont even know how good Cam is because he really hasnt been given the chance. Thats the disconnect here. Like I said in another post it takes you guys years to catch up to me and my points of view. You eventually agree. KPJ, SILAS, Mchale as a coach. Ive been right and continue to be right but it takes you guys years to figure it out. Cam at this point is ahead of where Jalen was at the same time. He just hasnt been given the same opportunities as jalen. We dont run plays for cam and he doesnt play with the starters and get the same minutes. youre looking at green through glazer colored glasses lol
We physically are watching Cam struggle to maintain a live dribble when he is asked to do a turning beyond attacking closeouts and catching and shooting. Buddy, you are the one regurgitating your premises over and over without addressing any specific arguments.
You don’t need to complain about playing time for a guy *who is playing*, a 3rd string guard and a shooter who is on a 6% frozen wasteland streak….. who also played. Read it however you like, just know I was laughing typing that out to you because it’s a butt grade hot take that has no basis located here on planet earth. Also said with humor.
Please don't say stuff like this outside of this forum, or people will think you have problems. Absolute baseless insanity what you just said.
Jalen Green has you people by the balls lol Its so silly. You guys act like Jalen has been this untouchable superstar. What has Jalen done that you think its imppossible for cam whitmore to do? its so weird lol Anyway who even are you?
They have completely different skill sets. There’s a better argument that Green and Whitmore should be on the floor at the same time.
Anyone saying Whitmore could do what Green is diimg is insane. PS….. Pretty sure this poster is a known Green detractor. Give Green a B for offense do far this year. Fine but you gotta give him an A- on defense.
That wasnt the subject lol also they both do the same things well. its just that cam really hasnt been given the chance that jalen has and jalen has more years on him.
I made a sourdough that was like, ultra delicious. I went to make a little breakfast like a week later and it tasted like soap. No mold or anything growing on it, or at least nothing obvious. It was super weird.
Jalen isnt some superstar that does things that cam can only dream lol youre being silly. anyway im bored of this. im just gonna ignore you.
When I say that you’ve “soured” on him I just meant that you no longer view him the same light as you did back when he was a rookie—not that you were being sour in general. I should’ve used a better phrase, I think. I’d prefer not to be lumped into “you guys” because I think I’ve always had reasonable takes on our players but I’m obviously biased towards Jalen, and I’ll probably continue to be. I really think he has the potential to be a great player, and I’ll keep thinking that as long as he’s a Rocket.
