Influx of foreign-made products being shut off...just in time for AI robots to make them here (i.e., still no good paying jerbs).
Back to wooden toys for the kids. Not a terrible thing. I also have a 3d printer. I hope I don't need parts for it.
Tarrifs and mass deportations (and the resulting inflation) destroy the restaurant industry. So I'd better save some money since that is a major part of my livelihood.
the Palestine protests will ramp back up and expand well beyond college campuses. National Guard and local SWAT will tear gas and live fire the crap out of them and counterprotesting open carry mass shooters. DC may have some assymetric Weathermen type attacks on cetrification day, now that the capitol is actually being guarded. the tariff threats aren't real, just lip service like "replace and repeal," and possibly some kind of market manipulation by Trump. We may also be at the start of a 50-year House majority streak for the GOP, similar to the Democrats' after Eisenhower's first mid-term.
1. The use of the national guard to round up and deport 20,000,000 illegal immigrants in the USA so fast that there will not be the need to build camps to house them before deporting them. Not sure where the trillion dollars to do it will come from, or what the economic shock will be removing like 10% of the work force in the USA - but you will at least get some good deals on rental properties to buy. 2. Expect Ukraine to fall within 24 hours of him taking office. He said he will force Zelinsky to settle with Putin. 3. Expect the construction of a border wall all the way across the Souther Border. Do not worry though, as he said that Mexico will pay for it. 4. Expect the construction of an Iron Dome across the USA - as Trump says we need the missel defense in USA 5. Expect that all imported goods will have either a 10% or 20% tariff added to all goods - except China who will get a 50% or 60% tariff. 6. Expect those convicted of being a drug dealer to get the death penalty 7. All Federal employees will be forced to take a Patriot Pledge. 8. Expect to have the best H20 - cleanest water ever, without fluoride.
If Inflation does go up - in 2028 the Democrats are going to win the White House and it is going to be someone that is borderline populist and someone that will walk through the door opened and propose things that will scare the **** out of 40% of the country.
1. They won't deport 20 million illegal immigrants, they will just be much tougher on the immigrants who committed crimes. That's a good thing. 2. How do you define "Ukraine to fall"? After speaking to people from the Donbass - while I detest Putin and it is clearly a war of aggression from Russia, the situation is complex. They are fighting a nuclear power. Their resources aren't endless. Neither is the ability or willingness of other countries to supply them with more resources. While most of us would wish for them to just "beat Russia" and "win", I don't see a path to that happening, short of world war 3. If there is a way to end the war and endless killing that results in Ukraine losing some territory in the Donbass (where apparently, a significant percentage of the population DOES feel more Russian than Ukrainian), but that ensures that the rest of Ukraine doesn't fall, that might - while not the optimal outcome - be a better outcome than endless further fighting and death. 3. I don't think Mexico will pay for it, but I have come around to understanding that borders are needed. Countries need to know and control as well as possible who is coming in. 4. Good. 5. While I would normally be a "free market" person as far as possible, after having done business in China for years, and after having seen how European countries try to take advantage of the USA, I understand the rationale behind tariffs. I am curious to see how this will play out. I expect these to be more of a leverage play and negotiation tool than necessarily something that will lead to isolationism. 6. I don't believe that will happen. But being tough on crime in general - like Nayib Bukele - is good for a society, that's my belief. 7. OK, not sure what the impact of this would be. 8. I don't have an opinion on this one yet, need to do research.
If trump follow through with what he said he was going to do? expect higher prices on electronic goods and car parts. Unless all you drive is Ford F150 or something.
Russia won't settle for just the Donbas and Crimea unless their backs are against the wall. They will want half of Ukraine, plus an agreement by Ukraine, NATO and the EU that Ukraine can never join with NATO or the EU. Plus they will want all their frozen assets back and all international sanctions lifted. Trump and Putin will agree to that deal in the first 24 hours; however, Ukraine and the rest of NATO will not. Maybe Trump will get Mike Pompeo to negotiate as he got such a great deal with the Taliban.
