A few things: Pretty obvious this is his last season here with his team option for next year. Reasonable chance he's a trade candidate to either consolidate the roster or get back a player of note He's a career 37% 3PT on 6.7 3PA and had one of his better shooting years last season He provides an offensive base (albeit not one penciled in for the playoffs, but he was always a transition piece) 6 games and it could be a shooting slump. Ime is having little patience on the defensive end of the roster In conclusion: He's a trade candidate due to contract and how he doesn't really fit into the future. I understand why Ime has been sticking with FVV based on past NBA history (he was overall good last year under Ime) and it wouldn't be so noticeable if other parts of the roster weren't also not cutting it. It's 7% of the season, I'll start getting concerned at 15%.
He doesn't have to be a pure PG, all he has to do is the Lebron or Jokic role...... Also does not need to be on those MVP's level, if it is on a high enough level suffices.
The sooner our pre-dominant backcourt is Amen and Jalen the better the Rockets will be. I believed it before the year and the early season confirms it to me. When Amen is on the floor we are a better basketball team. Even stubborn Ime has to wake up soon or we will not make the play-in. If we don’t make the play-in without major injuries, Ime should be fired.
Fred getting absolutely worked over by the Warriors' high trap was a big reason we couldn't score in the first half. Just got absolutely bamboozled by their aggression. Udoka needs to demand a lot better from his vet.
FVV: 0-20, I'm shooting it! Everyone at home: Please don't (but I definitely hope he'll keep shooting well)
I think it is time to bring James Harden or another star PG in to replace FVV around the deadline. Enough of our guys will be mature enough that they can handle themselves and do not need a coach on the floor like FVV anymore and our coaching staff is capable of handling James. FVV was the right choice to bring in at the time, but a star PG will make the team a contending team this year. The Clippers view themselves as being competitive w just James and a bunch of role players we would be able to do a lot more. The facilitator version of James Harden that we have seen the last few years would increase our risk profile, but it is a decent gamble in my opinion. The Rockets have played everything very safe for the last 5 seasons, they need to take some calculated risks soon.
Maybe we should give one of our best players from last year a few extra games before we push to trade him for scraps or bench him ?
People act like the Rockets are Adam Silver and can do everything at the deadline, nope, sorry to disappoint.
we need more threads like this one to reverse some of the bad mojo on our players! way to go OP! many thanks
Fred is here for one reason: teach the rest of the team structure and instill a winning mentality. He is probably only here for 2 years, maybe 3 because the FA pool is bad next season. But he is here to guide us from phase 2 to phase 3 of the rebuild and he is doing a pretty good job at that.
