I could see Haley running in 4 years and I actually think she would be "normalish"..............but man, I am just not sure the Bro`s will ever want a woman running things, and I don't see trump backing anyone other than a white male

    That can be changed

No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this Article was proposed by Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years from the date of its submission to the States by the Congress.

Can the Republicans invalidate the 22nd amendment? Congressionally? No
Supreme Courtly? D*MN RIGHT THEY CAN

Trump will have appointed 5 of 9 judges by the end of his term

Some argument about limiting the presidential ability to run a third time is not limited the people there right to free speech or some such

Jon Stewart…Dems need to a run a popular male celebrity that can spew a populist message

Trump is not viewed as a politician and can get away with a bunch of sh*t no other politician can…Dems need to find their own version of “not a politician”

I love Mayor Pete, the dude goes on the fox variety show and does not back down or blink, just as the Bro`s wont vote for a woman, I dont think they would vote for a person who is gay......................that could be my pissy attitude right now, but it seems it has to be a dude, preferably not from the coast(s)

Pete is gay, so he has no chance.

if y’all want to see Latino and Black men move even further to the right, nominate Pete

Pete isn’t gonna drive turnout or excite anyone

Trump basically got the same number of votes as last time while Kamala severely underperformed Biden’s amount

DeSantis was basically some republican’s desperate attempt to try and push out Trump which failed miserably

Pete is absolutely the best communicator in the democratic fold right now.

The problem is he is gay and that is simply electoral suicide.

His ceiling is the senate, which I think he will eventually get to one day.

I understand the nation isn't ready, yet. But how do we help move the attitude going forward? Isn't a good communicator that happens to be gay, a good way to do that?

... You have to lose an election first for "acceptance"?

After having the two oldest presidents to serve I'm not sure what the appetite will be for someone in their 70's.

Here are some of the names already mentioned (plus a few others) and how old they'll be in Jan 2029

    D
    • Kamala Harris - 64 years old
    • Josh Shapiro - 55 years old
    • Gavin Newsom - 61 years old
    • Gretchen Whitmer - 57 years old
    • Pete Buttigieg - 47 years old
    • Mark Cuban - 70 years old
    • John Fetterman - 59 years old
    • Andy Beshear - 51 years old

      R
    • Glenn Youngkin - 62 years old
    • Greg Abbott - 71 years old
    • Nikki Haley - 57 years old
    • Vivek Ramaswamy - 43 years old
    • J.D. Vance - 44 years old
    • Ron DeSantis - 50 years old
    • Sarah Huckabee Sanders - 46 years old

I'm not saying he's electable or not electable. I understand that his sexual orientation would be an obstacle.

But I feel we won't know unless it's attempted.

But would it be a problem to say that the Democrats are the party of acceptance and tolerance but won't support a potential candidate because of their sexual orientation?

I am seriously asking for thoughts and discussion and not to blast people or even champion Pete. He wouldn't be my top choice. I just want to understand reasonable folks rationale.

    I am. He's unelectable.

If you disagree that's fine. I am open to having my mind changed with some data.

One of the sports betting websites already had odds for 2028 to be President.

    JD Vance: 3/1 (+300)
    Michelle Obama: 5/1 (+500)
    Gavin Newsom: 11/2 +550
    Ron DeSantis: 8/1 (+800)
    Tulsi Gabbard: 10/1 (+1000)
Hilary Clinton, Tucker Carlson: 14/1 (+1400)
Kamala Harris, Nikki Haley, Oprah Winfrey: 25/1 (+2500)
Josh Shapiro, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Vivek Ramaswamy: 33/1 (+3300)

Donald Trump Jr.: 40/1 (+4000) (lol)
Tim Walz, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Doug Burgum, Elon Musk(?? dude is African), Gretchen Whitmer and Ivanka Trump: 50/1 (+5000)
Dwayne Johnson, Elizabeth Warren, Glenn Youngkin, JB Pritzker, Liz Cheney and Mark Kelley: 66/1 (+6600)

I'd be curious to see odds that would be a bet against all in this field.

Rumor has it she is headed to Broward country to farm some easy wins by jailing single working mothers with troubled kids and young black men caught with weed.
