Fair. But there are reasons why he got a strong mandate. People are sick of the excessive woke crap, plain and simple, and they want to be able to afford a good life.

Let's hope the next government can help them do that.

We'll see. The thing with a mandate is...its usually a mirage. People voted for Trump for different reasons, I think it's just that his messaging on the economy worked. I think Kamala was never a strong candidate, I always wanted an open primary. I thought Shapiro or Whitmer would have been much better. But with that mandate, If you start playing identity politics the other way strongly (Like for example dismantling Civil Rights under 'DEI') you're going to find out you don't have that mandate anymore.

A lot of presidents that win all three branches mess up their mandate because they think it's a mandate on everything. It's not. People want to be able to work one job and afford a house and food on one salary.

But Stewart has a good video out there for those eulogizing the Democrats...

Things change quickly. Trump has two years before 2026 and that mandate can be taken away like that. Who even knows how the senate might be and if they all will be unified under Trump. Obama had issues with that and his 'mandate' because there becomes a vacuum for moderate senators and someone is going to fill it.

The reason I'm not dooming like other democrats here is because I know how US politics work, even if Trump wants to do radical stuff, it's going to take balls for him to do it.

let’s see Trump enact everything he says he’ll do…should be no excuses since he has the Senate and the House yet again

if people still like what happens after project 2025, no wait agenda 47, is enacted, then that will just be how the country is moving forward

it'll be interesting if trumps wins on the same number of overall votes he got in 2020. he received 74 million votes in 2020 and is currently near 70 million.

Edit: AP is still claiming the race is too close to call.

still think we should do away with the EC

every election, only the voters in 5 or 6 states actually matter

Trump won the popular vote, so that to me is the true mark of what the people want as opposed to losing by millions of votes and still winning the presidency in a minority rule situation

I honestly felt bad for the guy.

In the (very few) videos I saw of him, it genuinely looked like they picked the class loser who they can pin the blame on for being too stupid and costing them the win, so they can shed all the blowback away from them.

Election aren't fun when u are in states like Texas or California. I didn't even have to do anything and I already knew where the ec votes is going to. At least make ec like Nebraska, where ec can be divvy up based on popular vote.

If trump wins via majority votes, it's the will of the people. Hope folks are ready for project 2025 and whatever christianity/conservative nonsense to b rammed down folks throat.

Biggest mistake the Dems made was not picking Shapiro as Veep.

It's funny how when Democrats are in control, Trump has won. Really should go to show MAGA how ****ing stupid the rigged election claims are, but if course, it won't.

I'm not too happy with scrotus being overwhelmingly Con, but this loss isn't as shocking as the first time Trump won or Bush's re-election that left everyone clinging to Hopey Changey Vibes at the end of it.

Both were different disappointments but over the years, I've learned not to blame voters for the failings of the candidates or campaigns.

Care to explain why her profile pic looks like a blow up doll?

America truly is a **** (TV) show. White, conservative, upper class people have nothing to worry about. Conspiracy believing, gun loving, right wing fools neither. But people with non-Caucasian, immigrant backgrounds, especially those from Muslim countries, they definitely have to worry.

Also the poor should be worried, especially about health care (insurance). Obama was the only one who tried to fix that inhumane capitalist driven system. Health care is provided on a high level in almost every nation in Europe, some for free, and nobody refuses anyone just because of money.

The voting system is broken too, with e.g. the electoral votes and simply depending on where you live, you basically cannot make a difference as has been stated here. This bi-partisan system can never be truly democratic since it allows no room for a third party, independent of that (thinking).

And you going to tell me Trump should’ve even been allowed to run after what he was found guilty for? You trust a p***y grabbing, anti-foreigner, foolish man who clearly has ties with Russia? The guy is as dumb as a doorknob, he’s a caricature.

Glad at least that the Americans I encountered during my travels are actually not as dumb, conservative, and most of all patriotic as people online make it seem.

Trump is elected the 47th president
    BY THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Donald Trump was elected the 47th president of the United States on Wednesday, an extraordinary comeback for a former president who refused to accept defeat four years ago, sparked a violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, was convicted of felony charges and survived two assassination attempts.

With a win in Wisconsin, Trump cleared the 270 electoral votes needed to clinch the presidency.

The victory validates his bare-knuckle approach to politics. He attacked his Democratic rival, Kamala Harris, in deeply personal — often misogynistic and racist — terms as he pushed an apocalyptic picture of a country overrun by violent migrants.

The coarse rhetoric, paired with an image of hypermasculinity, resonated with angry voters — particularly men — in a deeply polarized nation. As president, he’s vowed to pursue an agenda centered on dramatically reshaping the federal government and retribution against his perceived enemies

Trump will put all of you woke clowns in concentration camps. He will do it in memory of Peanut. There will be no mercy like in 2016. All of you pedos, traitors and criminals will be prosecuted. We will know finally who was responsible for his assassination attempts. Enjoy prison all you worshippers of the dark side.
