I think he sat last night because there were more favorable matchups to keep Reed in the game (Kolek, McBride). It's unfortunate, because I'd really like to see them both getting minutes.

When he learns how to play within the offense and not shoot every ball he touches

Hope this is a wake up call he needs. Losing rotation minutes to a rookie ain’t gonna be easy. He has enough raw talent to become a star. But lacks the stuff between the ears.

There is virtually no real news on Whitmore.

One of the higher ups has to lean him to a better trainer. His mindset is scoring is everything like Carmelo Anthony.

He's an exceptionally talented ball hog. He still deserves rotation minutes though. Hope they can work that out or I can see him becoming a problem.

As he is now, he’s looking like he’ll develop into an even more athletic and powerful Corey Maggette, without the foul-drawing prowess. That’s a good player but it would be doing his immense talent a disservice.

I think he needs to fix some of his bad habits, keep a good attitude, and embrace the development process. We as fans should be patient with Cam..he’s still one of the youngest players in the league

True, but Carmelo could do much more than shoot, run and dunk, despite being a below average passer.

Cam has a long way to go.

Whitmore would probably be better served being on a team like Detroit or Portland, where there are no expectations of winning. There, he can get playing time without worrying too much about making mistakes.

On the current Rockets team, he could still develop and maybe he would become a more well-rounded player as a result. But he'd have to buy into the process, which includes getting very little playing time and being treated like a rookie for another season.

He's doing it so far, but I'm not sure if his patience will last.

Cam has the same bag as Giannis.

Option A: drive into the defense and ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Option B: take 3 pointer and ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Detroit has expectations. For the team and fanbase, there goal is to compete for a playin or postseason Spot. Rather it’s realistic or not, it’s up to debate but just going off of the local media and press, their expectations have been elevated. Since they fired Monty.

He'd probably turn into a good-stats/bad-team player in Detroit or Portland. That's exactly how JG was trending under Silas. With a bit of coaching/structure and a better surrounding cast, JG is reaching higher levels.

Whitmore is being treated like a rookie in so far as he hasn't proven his worth to competitive team yet. He needs to make that realization of what that means. If Reed is getting time over him, he needs to figure out why.

Really need his shooting back. I think he will start heating up soon.

Cam too talented to just rot on the bench. He’ll bounce back.

after seeing that line with Reed, Jalen, Tari, Amen. And Sengun, it’s imperative that we see more lineups on the floor with the core.
I rmemeber Jalen saying he wants to run more with Cam and Amen.

We need to experiment more with small lineups to counter other teams small lineups. Cam plays bigger than his size and sometimes faster.

True, they probably gave big contracts to vets like Tobias Harris because they want to be more competitive, which is also good for Cunningham's development.

Still, I think they's willing to give their young guys like Ivey and Holland plenty of playing time, even if they make their share of mistakes along the way. Kind of like what Udoka did more of in Houston last season, though not so much this year.

Yeah, it does look like Whitmore's going to have to earn any minute he gets this year. That's the situation he's facing in Houston, and barring injuries, he might be looking at more games in which he gets 5 minutes or less.

The Nets traded 2 FRPs and 2 swaps so they could tank this season.
    The Bulls traded for Giddey.
    The Raptors offense is out.
The Wizards.....they have a really young team and are still talking like they haven't finished shedding every bit of NBA ready talent.
Charlotte can't play Houston every game.
The Bucks are a Giannis asking out to being done.

It would be freaking hilarious if the Pistons can't make much less don't compete for the play-in this year.

Cam out the rotation and the way Ime runs his team he’s probably out for good unless an injury happens. I hate to say it but maybe we should trade him while he’s still valuable. He loses value the more he’s glued to the bench in this situation. Maybe trade him to DC for a FRP.

I watched his 7-8 minutes last night in garbage time - he was not, doing work, as they say.
