I don't either. People in PA are hella fatigued at this point more than any other state. But Trump drawing big crowds in consecutive nights in the same metro are signs of enthusiasm.

At the very least nobody is predicting a 98% Dem win this time. The days of knowing who wins the Presidency before we go to bed are over. Every election going forward will be a litigious nightmare, and it's extremely unfortunate that we had Donald Trump as a candidate during this time period, because he basically poured gasoline on an open flame with his persistent bellyaching and conspiracy mongering. Trad Pubbies had enough shame to know that behaving like that was 1) personally reprehensible and 2) legitimately damaging to the institutions and principles that hold our country together. But now, Trump had made it socially acceptable to be a little ******* and smear **** on the walls if you lose, no matter the margin. Don't get more wrong, we were eventually going to get here. The country was going to end up this divided either way. The difference is, do the candidate(s) respect the rule of law and the American ideal. But the fact Trump was on the ticket just as we entered our forever hyper divided stage is so insanely unlucky.
Agree with your post, but not sure Trump's rise is as random as people think. This is the kind of guy a lot of people want. Loud, bullying, schoolyard talk. Simplification taken to five-word phrases for complex topics. etc. The excitement of transgressive speech, etc. le sigh
It's as random as Barack Obama deciding to put this particular 3 minutes into a half hour long speech. There's plenty of despicable and unsavory celebrities (in both politics and without). But there really aren't that many people who would put their own ego ahead of the future of the country. That is a truly unique character flaw.
