harden haters would rather us pay fvv $40 mil to average 14.2 pts and 6.1 assists over the alternative. It's one thing to prefer a superior a player not name harden, that's understandable, but to like a shttier player b/c he isn't harden is just mind bogglingly stupid

Look, if that makes the narrative better, fans never begged for FVV, most of us were even surprised Fred VV considered us.

This silly commentary of fans begging Stone to pay FVV 42 million a year needs to stop now. ----friggin Misinformation fake News.

Not that he was a star, but because nobody wanted to join the Rockets prior to Udoka arriving.

It was blood money for how deep Silas, KPJ and then Stone ruined the reputation, okay , Stone redeemed himself with the draft picks, but it was disastrous to say the least.

We paid FVV 42M because his contract is unguaranteed. That's the reason why FVV will only join the Rockets because why the hell would he take an unguaranteed contract at his age and status? You have to pay a premium and because of that premium we can dump FVV next season if we wanted to. Is that too hard for you to understand? This has been repeated ad naueseum here and you still don't get it.

Rockets reached 0.500 for the first time in a loaded west and are 5-3 this year. How the hell is this disastrous? You are the one with fake news.

To be honest the ones who keep talking and pining for James Harden are some of the biggest copers and fake news makers on this board. Harden wanted a full max is that so hard to understand? Yes I'd rather have FVV on an unguaranteed contract over James Harden making 45M-60M for the next 5 years. LOL wtf. Y'all really have the nerve to call others spreading misinformation and fake news? Gimme a break.

I don't think it has anything to do with stats. Everyone wants our own young guys to take the lead role in terms of scoring. The guy playing PG for us has to be a role model for defense, effort and playing a role. It's just not a fit for Harden - he wants to be the system whereas we want to invent a new system.

Honestly dude, there is no bigger Harden fan than me on this board. I love that guy, he's the second best player in franchise history IMO. It's totally false you have to hate Harden to not want him on this team.

However this isn't the right place and time for it. It's not good for us for him to be here, no matter how attractive the story and no matter how much better of a playmaker he is than FVV. Perhaps for his retirement tour next year or the year after. We can pick him up for peanuts at that point.

Right now, more than anything, we need Green/Sengun/Thompson to step up their playmaking and our PG - whoever it is - to be secure with his ego in a reduced role. A 3&D guy who doesn't turn it over. Harden would be depressed here if he were in the role. Just an overall terrible idea. Thank god Udoka stopped it from happening and put in a defensive and non-heliocentric identity. We're going to reap the benefits of that for 10+ years, which is worth a lot more than the difference between Harden/FVV for two years.

And Mathloom drops the hammer, this discussion is over.

FVV was and his perfect for the type of guy they wanted to lead this team and the youngsters. Everyone has been raving about him in the organization and we just need to root for him to have more games like he’s having these last 2 or 3 rather than the first few.

Hope people can accept the fact that he was never going to come here and allow Green to be the guy he can be now + the extensions look way different with a maxed out Harden on your roster.

You are right about something but the Harden discussion will continue untill that dude drops his retirement announcement.

Udoka rejected Harden the system but the fans obviously did not.

Why is everyone acting like Harden has been amazing this year? He’s been pretty bad. 37.6 from the field, .28 from 3, .52 TS%. FVV was slow to start but he’s picking up steam.

But there’s no discussion on us having Harden over FVV, because it didn’t happen for various reasons and if people acknowledge that we couldn’t have this roster, the extensions and how Harden wanted to win as well as get the absolute max, then they’d see this is all moot.

In a year or two Harden off the bench in role would maybe be cool. FVV was always the right decision though for all of the reasons already stated here. The future of the rockets is obviously the guys the team drafted. The team getting “easier” shots and using Harden as a crutch is not it.

And yet crazily enough FVV's efficiency is still slightly worse... Harden's averages are gonna pick up as well... The difference is simple... His impact is far greater... If you've watched the Clips this year... They've been in position to win almost every game because of how great Harden is as a playmaker, his ability to get to the line still, and how much teams defend him regardless of how he's been shooting.

This sentence has a lot of spin.

A Tit for Tat 180 degree spin essentially stating the same info.

They've been in position to win almost every game due to the defense, but have lost some because of how Harden is shooting regardless of his ability to get to the line still, and regardless how much teams defend him.

Yeah just like we’ve lost games because of FVVs trash performances.

I don't think a 36 year old toxic club w**** loving max contract I'm the system would be a good mixture to our young culture.
