I don't see much actual evidence out there to support the idea that Sengun is bad in transition. His transition frequency and number of transition possessions were pretty average last season, and his efficiency in transition situations was excellent. This idea that he's good in the half-court and bad in transition is something that people just seem to just assume and put out there without much basis in reality.

In any case, it's good for teams to be able to play both in transition and in the half-court, and honestly if I had to choose one, I'd choose the latter--I believe it's more reliable in playoff basketball than a run-and-gun type of game.

The only (and I mean only) time anybody could say he's "bad" in transition is when he rebounds then runs end to end like an oversized PG. He's not fast enough for that. He also barely ever does it any more, so it's mostly irrelevant. In truth he should be an excellent break starter being the guy who catches the rebound and makes the outlet pass because his passing ability is wayyy above average for a big man. He's a better passer than most wings, there's no way he doesn't excel in making a quick read and finding the right athletic guy to push the break. He's basically custom made for that role lol.

Tari is the Amen we were hoping for, and Amen is the Tari we were hoping for.

Agreed. FVV's perimeter D hasn't had the same pop this year. He's getting beat to spots, but my larger point was Ime believes in Fred and he's giving him a long leash.

My guess is that RS can match Fred almost step for step, but RS lacks the strength and savvy. Again, maybe after we play 10 more games, we'll see more of role for Reed.

Agree. Would like to see Adam’s and Sengun together, with Shep, Cam, and Tari around them. Just for a bit of run now and then, and maybe give McVeigh a shot (literally).

I mean we were already winning by a mile before Adams even entered the game lol And unlike Tari and Amen vs Jabari you really cant point to anything he did better than Sengun that would warrant saying he's somehow a better option.

We have to figure out the Şengün halfcourt offense again. That’s exactly how we should be playing when we are on a dry stretch and need to slow down the game. Someone needs to slap Şengün in the face and remind him how he plays. He’s playing timid and seems to have no lift. Didn’t look that way in preseason iirc. It’s a post contract lack of confidence. I dunno which opponent is best for this, but we need to force feed him out of it, imo. I don’t want to do that in sacrifice of wins, though. And I don’t think Sengun does either. That’s part of the problem. He knows he’s struggling, so he’s looking to defer even more than he normally does. And it’s not deferring the shot in order to pass. He’s just giving up the ball asap even when he has mismatches.

I’d be worried if I hadn’t seen 3 consistent years of success from him.

    Its already figured out

Sen-hub still exists but is live ball rusty from not playing since that injury..... Which is why I felt Ime kept him out there longer in preseason regardless of who was out there on other team

Sengun is playing just like a rusty player and you can tell by the old flashes with the miscues and trying to get back in sync and get back to daily game ''sauce-y'' Alpi.....

Give him at least 15-20 games to hit his last season peak/stride

I know Green was hot going down the stretch, but I really love the two mid-range jumpers that Thompson and Brooks made to put the game away.

I think especially Thompson's shot was drawn up, but both of them were going straight at Irving, because he's probably the weak defensive link for Dallas.

Unlike previous seasons, there's a sense that this team is being deliberate and well-coached.

Its wild how amidst all of the scrub-bust-8 game fluke/Jordan Poole etc talk last yr or so, Luka declared Green4 was a superstar in the making....

Then many months later in Luka's own house, Green hits him with a Luka type dagger 3....

Then after the game, Luka said Green4 was a 'great player'

Luka may be a modern day Nostra-Donc-us or this is just the 8 game fluke version unleashed.....TBD

OR Luka just sees what everybody with half a brain and eyes can see, when they're not focusing on nonsense like nail polish.
