People are still pushing this point? Brooks has been fantastic so far this season. His on / off numbers are absurd.
Yeah I'd much rather start Tari. Amen is good but he still can't shoot, I like him as a guy off the bench. I think Tari is better than Bari at pretty much everything at this point.
It looks improved to me. Not great, but improved. He's hitting around .33 of his 3s, primarily on "dare you" shots. If he can keep that up, it should open things up for him significantly. I don't have a ton of faith in him becoming a good (or even decent) shooter, but if he can hit open 3s consistently above .3, then I think that should be enough to stop teams from consistently sagging off him.
First unit: FVV Green Amen Jabari Sengun Second unit: Sheppard Cam Brooks Tari Adams Obviously, Coach will mix and match so it isn't simply those lineups, but I think we need to think about Amen's all around game getting into the starting lineup. He does a lot of things really well, and you obviously have guys who can score in the starting lineup, so he doesn't have to worry about that (other than driving to the lane and getting buckets in there). Brooks is only shooting 31% from 3 anyhow.
It's year 3, and I see barely any improvement from Bari. I feel like he is a theoretical player... Long, so theoretically, he can defend inside and outside (can't defend either), shot well at college, so he theoretically is a good shooter (streaky 3pt at best), was a star player, so he probably could get his in iso(can't dribble). On top of that, he can't pass; he rebounds a little better right now, but nowhere in the same universe that Eason is. And he is mentally weak, constantly ****ing up crucial shots. I would pack him cam and picks for Markannen in a sleep
Trust me guys, just give him some time to adjust. Ten games to adjust is normal at this age. Green and Sengun have to get better at finding and connecting with him. He looks stronger, smarter and a bit more polished out there. His 3PT% will bounce back up and I think better than last season. Yes I know we've been watching him microscopically for two years but he's still just 21. He'll ENTER his prime in a few years. No need to be in a crazy rush, things are going really well. Bari will be fine.
