Watching Stroud turn into Anthony Richardson last night was outright traumatic.

If you didn't watch the game, or watch it properly, why don't you watch it before going on a forum to argue about it?

This is an internet forum to discuss Rockets basketball, not your personal blog site. I don't understand why you have this desperate need for attention on this site when you could have just watched the game replay properly at your own time and commented on it afterwards instead of arguing from ignorance.

I was expecting Ime to insult Sengun after his garbage usual but probably next time. Public demonization is my favorite act when the case is Sengun.

If you have to ask why I'm asking questions about the game, it means you failed to understand my OP. Try reading it again and see if you can do a better job of it.

I'm honestly tired of having to baby you guys. Demonstrate that you have at least an 8th grade reading level if you want to discuss things I've said.

Jalen Green was very good last night. Good on defense the whole night, and made the key plays down the stretch. And I’m a skeptic on him.

Two huge developments for Jalen Green:

1). he plays with more force and commitment on the defensive end, especially when isolated. IMO, he is not merely average on defense (or below average as he has been previously). He is actually good. And consistent this year thus far. Therefore trustworthy to Ime to play.

    2) he looks more like March 2023 Jalen than passive/mistake prone/settle for bad shots Jalen. Many times this year, he has looked like a guy who can impose his will to get to the rim. There is still more room for growth, as going from good to the top level elite is extremely difficult. I still question whether he has the mentality to get there versus plateauing at very good. But I think we are seeing evidence that he can reach All Star level, say Donovan Mitchell or Booker (he’s not there yet). I still question whether he has the mentality to reach All NBA/lead player on a championship team. Can he reach Tatum or Brown level? If so, I think Udoka is a good enough coach to deliver a title.

In the time that you spent on this forum arguing about the game, you could have actually watched it, but I guess you have somehow designated yourself to becoming the forum's dedicated fool.

    I literally cringed reading this.

The second hand embarrassment for the person behind this account is becoming unbearable.

    My observations:

-Rockets really struggled with defending the high screen and roll. Dallas was very effective and surprised they decided to iso Luka instead of going to what worked. Issue is Rockets have slow Centers who play deep drop every single play. If they go up to the ball handler they get burned. They can’t switch because they’re not Capela or Myles Turner who can guard perimeter guys. And because of length Sengun sometimes has issues intercepting those lobs. But seems to be communication issue as well. When ball defender goes over or under both guys are guarding one leaving a wide open lob.

-Rockets are getting the ball to Green and Sengun at different spots. They ran a lot if double drags or modified staggered screens into a DHO for Green. They also played sengun DHO at the wings and let him operate from the wings instead of top of key. They also posted him in that mid post block.

-Rockets seem very successful when they screen with Sengun far out on the wings like 27-28 ft out. This gives Green attack lane and easy buckets for Sengun on the roll with the drive or short 6-8 ft Bucket in the paint.

The game was nearly blown due to the Rockets not able to defend the high screen and roll and the offense not getting into its sets early. This is a repeated weakness of this team.

Yeah he has done a great job staying in front of players and forcing tough jumpers without fouling.

Sengun doesnt look right. Reportedly dropped weight but did that effect his post game? He barely moved Doncic or Sohan. Definitely not good signs.

They get into their actions late on offense. They either try to get the dribble drive with Green or FVV after holding the ball for 4-5 seconds then getting stopped on a double team with no second action. This happens repeatedly. They’re most successful getting a early deep high screen or double drag/staggered up top. Really slow team and a lot of it has to do with personnel

Worried about how we defend the high screen. We need to be more aggressive either hedging them or trapping the ball man. If curry plays we need to trap his ass.
