Good catch. The next game is against the Warriors, another perimeter-oriented team with not a lot of size in the middle.

If the game is close at the end, there's a good chance Udoka will again go with the small-ball, defensive lineup of FVV/Green/Brooks/Eason/Thompson.

    It's good to have options.

Im just so impressed by the maturity of ALL the young guys. They are starting to 'get it' and know when to pick their shots. Its no longer a game of Knockout. Jalen especially has stood out here.

Uncanny offensive rebounding and 2nd Chance points.

I know Tari is frustrating as hell with his missed layups & occasional brain farts - but jesus that guy just goes and makes plays and plays and plays - I know Ime loves Jabari but it's impossible to ignore Eason's ability to impact games without even putting up shots.

The sample size is minsucle, but the Rockets are rolling with an absurd +42 Net rating with Eason on the floor - 139 ORTG - 97 DRTG (edit: that is from BBref which didn't include last night)

He entered in the late 4th and promptly blocked a shot.

I'm glad somebody pointed this out. Our starting lineup is actually killing it. They did the same last year. People always try to tear down the starters but the numbers don't lie. Our starting 5 is very good.

To those who watched more closely than I did (i had the game on but was distracted by Halloween festivities and the embarrassment that was the Texans last night), was Jalen Green actually good or did he just have some impressive highlight reel type plays?

I ask because the box score shows him having a ton of turnovers and really inefficient scoring.

He was very good, but most importantly, he saved the game in the fourth quarter. He stepped up when nobody else could. And it seems like this is becoming a trend.

No, asking a question because I didn't get to see a lot of the game.

I know a lot of the knuckle draggers around here are the basketball fan equivalent of someone who thinks Michael Bay films are cinematic masterpieces due to all of the slow motion boobs and explosions.... so when I see praise for a guy who scored 23 points on 21 shots with 5 turnovers, it's worth questioning since I didn't see enough of the game to know for sure.

Fair enough, so was he just really bad for most of the game then extremely clutch at the end?

You can't have numbers like his if you weren't really bad at some point.

I like how you conveniently ignored the 12 rebounds (tied for highest on both teams), 4 assists, 1 block and 1 steal.

When a guard gets a lot of rebounds it's usually based on scheme, others box out, the guard collects the easy boards.

Adams did that for Westbrook in OKC.

It's just not something I credit guards for because unlike forwards and centers, the hard work is done for them by others.

Also, 4 assists to 5 turnovers is really bad and 2 stocks are impressive when someone like Tari gets them in 19 minutes, 2 stocks aren't impressive for someone who played 30+ minutes

So you admitted to not watching the game, but conclude that his rebounds do not deserve to be credited despite it reflecting on the box score.

At the same time, you concluded based on box score that a 4 assist to 5 TO ratio is "really bad", despite not factoring in potential assists, or secondary assists, things that do not show up on the box score.

Instead of arguing on an internet forum about a game that you didn't watch, why not just watch the game instead? Or does that make too much sense?

I wouldn't say really bad. He had a rough first half on turnovers, I think the had 4 of his 5 turnovers in the first half. His last one was an "offensive foul" on Luka that I thought was a flop and a **** call, but that's what happens when superstars flop, they get the call.

Also I think you're exaggerating on how "horrible" he was. I just checked and he was 5/13 going into the 4th, and then went 4/8 in the 4th. We had a 15 point lead going into the quarter and the lead was dwindling because nobody on the team could score. Then Jalen started scoring. If he didn't step up and score, we probably would've lost. I'm not saying overall efficiency doesn't matter, but your ability to step up and take over when your team needs it is important too.

I watched some of it, but as I said, I was distracted by a lot going on.... which is why I didn't say that Green definitely didn't earn the rebounds himself...I just said that when guards get a ton of rebounds it's almost always scheme related rather than them doing the work themselves.... just like it was for part of last season, just like it was with Adams and Westbrook in OKC.

4 assists to 5 turnovers is really bad, full stop. Homeristic cope aside.

I get that a lot of you really struggle with reading comprehension, but the answer to why i want able to fully pay attention to the game was in the OP.... give it another read and see if you can do a better job a second time.

In fairness, I wasn't saying he was horrible, I was barely able to watch, I was pointing out the disparity between his actual numbers and the fan response. If I was able to push more attention to the game last night, then I would make more definitive statements. As of now, I have to go on what you guys say

Well I can tell you he definitely played a lot better than Stroud
