Extending early voting invalidated the vast majority of complaints. It has never been easier to vote. Allowing mail-in voting for everyone is just a terrible idea. It should be reserved for those who can't physically make it to the booth, not because they are lazy. Relying on the USPS compounds the issue exponentially. This is something that should have been rolled out over multiple elections.
Hey, y'all found any Dems cheating or voting illegally since you started this thread? Just wondering here...shouldn't be that hard with all the undocumented immigrants voting everywhere all the time, right?
This is an all encompassing bipartisan libertarian green party thread. Don't hate on my most successful thread in my clutchfans career.
Dropped of my mail-in ballot over the weekend at a 24-hour ballot box. In retrospect, it did seem almost too convenient. I probably could have taken some time off during the work week to go and vote in person, but not everyone has that type of schedule flexibility.
Is burning those boxes considered voter fraud? I'm sure it depends on who is doing it when you ask one of the Putin nutsuckers on the board.
Yeah, she's a Trumper, and it could just as easily been committed by an anti-Trumper. Neither case would deserve any jail time at all. I remember the 5-year sentence for Crystal Mason for her mistaken impression that she was allowed to vote. That was a ridiculous miscarriage of justice (and the Texas appeals court agreed and threw out her conviction this year). I get the feeling that because the Republicans are amping up this voter fraud thing and want to make prison sentences rival those for crack cocaine that some Democrats are engaging in some 'how would you like it' vengeance sentencing fantasies. The response to Republicans' overzealous policing of supposed liberal voter fraud should not be a tit-for-tat counter-overpolicing of actual MAGA voter fraud. You're getting sucked into their game. Step back and consider what is the actual gravity of the offense and what is a reasonable punishment. And it should go to both sides, obviously, because justice (ideally) is blind. She committed voter fraud and should be convicted. But, it's just about the most mild case of voter fraud possible. Let's not get crazy.
Somehow, I struggle to believe somebody claiming thousands of non-citizens are found on voter rolls, unless you are factoring in those states that allow non-citizen voters, that just can't vote in federal elections.
Because more people voted? I've told this story before, but while I was waiting in line to early vote back in 2020, the man in front of me fainted and was taken to the hospital after we had been standing in line for over an hour. In a state where it is ****ing illegal to hand out bottles of water. **** voter suppression.
Have you seen the way they come up with the list of people to remove from voter rolls? They will literally cross-check voter rolls in neighboring states and anyone with the same first and last name that lives in different states get's challenged. For example, Joe Garcia shows up on the voter roll in Georgia and in Alabama, then his name gets challenged or removed. It doesn't matter if its 2 different Joe Garcias or even if they have different middle names. They are challenged or removed. Real people, U.S. citizens with every right to vote, are being removed by the thousands. If you have not seen this documentary, it is a must see.
That isn't a voter suppression scam. Saying you already voted would likely increase your likeliness to take action. Voter suppression would be sending messages saying you are already registered to vote, when you are not. Or saying they will register you to vote, and then not filing the application (something that I know happened at a women's college a few years ago). Being a scam to steal your info is 100% plausible, and what I would assume if I received a message like that.
The idiot that was setting voter drop off boxes on fire - is a far right extremist. This was incredibly predictable - as we go further and further down the abyss
