Honestly this is the biggest revelation of the early season Green we are seeing. It's the conditioning. I told ya'll last season was basically a cardio conditioning season for Green. He didn't have the legs under him to shoot long jumpers well last season because for the first time in his basketball career he has to expend a high level of energy throughout a game on defense. Green having the legs underneath him to shoot well and also be a plus defender is the major revelation and hopefully a indication that conditioning is paying off. When you see his second year his scoring trajectory was that of guys like Booker and Ant with 22 ppg at similar efficiency as those two in his age 20-21 year season and then dip in scoring magically and have a career low in spot up efficiency in his third year when both those guys had offensive leaps in their third season, it was due to this transitional phase for Green experiencing an actual accountable coaching staff with expectations on the other end. Booker didn't have that change in his third year. He was allowed to "cook" and not give a crap about defense in his third year and his team won 20 games. He had no expectations besides putting up buckets that year and I'm sure if Green experienced a similar third season with Silas at the helm, no high usage veterans who deserve that usage added to the team and no expectations to try on defense at a competent level, I'm sure Green would have advanced his sophomore numbers easily. But that would have been bad for his long term progress as a all around player.
"He's only an above average defender, but that might be enough" Nope, he's ****ing KOBE BRYANT 2.0. Deal with it b****es
I don't like this comparison. While I don't think that Edwards is as great as some do - I also don't think it is a fair comparison for Green either at this point. It is very early in the season - Green has had a really great start and it goes beyond the numbers. At this point I just want to see consistency from him, the numbers and comparisons will take care of themselves.
Yeah he's known for the most astronomically stupid takes, like doubling down on insulting people's dead parents.
I love this comparison. I wanted Jalen to eventually enter the conversation as a top 2 young sg prospect. I hope that he embraces it. No pulling back now.
Although not a max deal, dude just got a 100+ million dollar contract and obviously, even if it's a small sample, looks to be hungrier than ever. This young core are going to hang another banner in the rafters at TC! How sweet it is!
I don’t like it just because I think they are different players. Edwards is more of a bruiser, Green is more finesse. Looks like Green may develop into a better 3 pt shooter, too. Wade v. Kobe for lack of a better comparison.
