I been been one of the most vocal about making sure those who deserve it eating major crow with their over the top hatred. But let's make sure we don't include the guys who had reasonable concerns dropped into the same bucket of those who need to eat crow. But definitely one thing is for sure BTB isn't one of those posters. The sad reality is that most of the posters who deserve to be crapped on like BTB will post less if Green is excelling.
I’m loving what I’m seeing but I’m still very cautious of buying in to this being the new Jalen and not another hot streak. If you look at his stats, the biggest reason for his 9ppg gain in comp to his career average, over this small 4 game sample, is his insane 3PT shooting. He’s making nearly 5 threes a game at 41% which is completely unprecedented for him as a shooter. His FG% is only 1% higher than his career average at just 43%. His assist rate is lower than his career average. Statistical positives outside of shooting, his FG% at the rim is up big time at 80%, but albeit at a career low frequency at just 18% of his shots. His turnover rate is a career low which is great. The eye test says it’s more than just shot shooting, that his processing of the game has got better, but as I recall this is usually true for most of his hot streaks. Multi personality player of sorts. Here’s to hoping this time is different and that he’ll be consistently improved going forward as a more efficient and aggressive offensive player
Jalen Green for the season before the Spurs game had a scoring efficiency of 54% ts. His career scoring efficiency is 54% ts. Before the Spurs game Green had a BPM of 3.0 for the season . His career BPM is -1.6. So advanced analytics says it's a lot more than hot shooting.
Dow Jones player, let's hope he can keep up what he did tonight, history shows one thing but that could be him being young. He had a great game last night for sure. DD
Did you mean to reply to someone else? I don't know how your comment here has anything to do with my premise in my post.
Too early but I love the improved D and he’s shooting 41% from 3 through 4 games. Really good start, but i need to see 6-weeks/2-months of overall good play before I deliver my apology.
Dunno, honestly, am super busy at work dropped in for 2 mins posted then left....do it a lot....maybe? DD
Next 5 games should be a good test of his consistency on both ends. @ Mavs Warriors Knicks Spurs @ Thunder Tough stretch against some really good defenses. Protecting home court and stealing 1 of 2 away games would be awesome, but I'd also settle for 3-2 Might as well throw in the next game vs the Pistons for the "narrative" vs Cade. Make it 4-2 yall.
He's going to have good games, great games, mediocre and bad games, which is to be expected and not a knee-jerk reaction of absolutes based on one or a few games. But what matters are the trends, and where a player is trending long term. He's been trending up since last season and was always going to be a late bloomer. Very happy that he's going to continue growing and get even better over time.
Says the dude who championed a bumbling turnover machine woman beater. Probably a closet clipper fan now. This is going to be fun to watch.
I've never seen a guy who averages 39% FG get praised as much as Jalen does. Dude has regressed to all-career lows in TS% as well. His defense is noticeably improved but his shot is still all over the place and not worthy of his contract.
I maintain my “somewhat optimistic” attitude toward Jalen. It seems to me he has played well in about 50% of the games so far this season and has played better defense in almost all of them. That is much better than the 30% of games he played well in the last couple of years. Anybody jumping to conclusions about our young players after 10 games this year are just being silly or trolling.
Same here. I was expecting slow improvement not march jg all the time. That is an unrealistic expectation. He’ll be fine. I want to see jg/Sengun actions more, I want them to take more responsibility win or lose, rather than fvv. İme should let them explore more. It is still development season for them.
Are we still apologizing? Cuz this is the same dude as last year just tries a little harder on defense...
We gotta get over the individual only fan mentality and start rooting for this team. The individual stuff is distracting from the fact our wins exceed our talent….and I love that about us.
