Sidenote: Please don't growl at women, it's really disturbing for somebody with t*** that size to try and act sexy if they're the man and not the woman...
Look at little Nobizzle focusing on me....so flattered, might be my son....go get me a juice box boy! DD
Tell that to the 60/70 year old man who started it all because he has nothing of value to say about basketball.
Don't get dragged in the mud @DaDakota. Jalen's shown some good things. The defense has certainly improved. He also continues to shoot inconsistently with percentages that fall in line with his career numbers.. of course, he's not alone in this regard on the team. This is true, yet we're all here hoping for the best. Arguing on what is too critical or not supportive enough is just silly.
Dragged? He literally started it, it went from jokes about the DD curse that almost everybody makes to targetting my mother and ad hominem attacks. How is that him being dragged into anything?
Green had a good game all things considered. Let's hope he keeps playing up to this potential at least .
You can't help yourself, can you b**** t***? Putting you on ignore now so I don't need to see your asinine bullshit the same way you've not seen your penis for the last 30 years.
Not sure when your Mom past (condolences if it was recent) but kudos to you for having one of the wittiest comebacks I've seen here. BTW... You know that you've gotten under someone's skin when they have to resort to insulting your Mother. Definitely shows lack of maturity or intelligence (or both) on their part. With that being said, back to basketball: Jalen's defensive focus has been what I've been most impressed with. I remember reading or seeing somewhere that he wanted to work on his conditioning this off season so that exerting more effort on defense didn't impact him on the other side of the ball.
Thanks, I do appreciate that. Not particularly recently, but still enough to get me angry enough to mock the piece of **** a bit more than I probably had to. I've put his dumb ass on ignore now anyway. I agree, the defensive intensity has been the revelation I think has really made people change their opinion a lot this year. Obviously I'm a Green homer (and I have no shame in that) but it's nice to finally see the masses start to see what us few die hards have seen since the start. He has superstar written all over him.
I'm pretty sure that was a large aspect of his offensive regression from year two to three. Ime got him running around exerting effort on defense. He was consistently putting up that effort by ASB. Still making bad decisions off ball but the effort was there. Now the decision making off ball on defense is in sync with the rest of the team. But ya that obviously had an impact on his offense last year. So a year build up of conditioning in game last season and off season conditioning hopefully means this season he can return to making gains on his offensive production as a sophomore while also being the level of defender he has been since ASB last year.
It's only been three games, but some of what I'm seeing will continue to translate to good defense. He seems to be getting better at using is God given speed and athleticism to be in good position or recover. Him having apparently gained some additional strength also has shown up in him being able to hold his ground when in position and not be bullied as much as he used to by other guards. His hands also appear to be more active as I feel like he's gotten his hands on more loose balls (pause) in these first few games than all of last season (no stats to back that up, just feels that way).
I think this year will be him putting the pieces together and we'll start to see him assert himself over games the way he tried to do at the end last night. I still think it needs to click mentality wise that he can just turn that on and take over the way other players of his talent level can. Personality wise he's a lot more laid back and chill/cool than brash and cocky until that switch flips, but once it does and the fire's lit he's as potent as any of them. The more he taps into that the more we'll see him jumping over people Ja-style again and doing the kind of offensive performances we saw in March.
This right here is my only issue and it may not be entirely Jalen's fault. I'm not sure if it's his nature or him buying into Ime's meritocracy mindset (AKA - no offensive hierarchy) but I don't want to see him differing to Fred or Dillon (or anyone for that matter). Especially when he has it going and they've found a mismatch that can be exploited. Fred still has too much control over the offensive flow and I would love to see that taper off. More two man game with Jalen and Alpi. Have Fred move to opposite corner and be ready to catch and shoot.
