Lol this is not Usain Bolt and track and field.

    Basketball has layers.

This is fully on Ime and his concept of an Offense that is too basic.

    • Great defensive mind but too stuck in his own ways.
    • Also he loves Tate and Brooks but refuses to sign stars?
    • And yeah they need more veteran shooters and not rookie shooters.
    • Udoka reached the point where Dillon and Fred have given their all and it is not enough. Partly bc the Core 7 is not ready offensively.

2nd quarter was an abomination. We went 9 whole minutes without scoring a single point. Only 1 offensive rebound in the first half, got dominated on the boards overall, and shot selection was terrible during that stretch.

Fell behind by 22 and scratched, clawed and scraped to get back within 1 but ultimately fell short. Had multiple chances to tie or take the lead but couldn't hit the shots.

Been trying to read through the comments but what exactly was going on with Sengun? I was checking the box score when I could and pretty much assumed he got benched.

I have to rewatch the 10 point quarter, I tuned in the fourth. I was afraid he got injured.

I know some folks are happy with the way we played but I am not. Yes we really picked it up in the 4th quarter and played extremely hard, especially defensively. But honestly that was after playing with so much disfunction for most of the game. We don’t see to me maximizing player strengths. We don’t need Amen to Jack up 3’s, we need him to get to the rim or mid-range. We don’t need Sengun dribbling at the top of the key. We don’t need Jalen jacking up 3’s. Dillons hero ball is not a winning approach, but when no one else is able to do anything I do understand the desire to just go get a bucket. Dillon is better when the ball moves and he’s doing catch and shoot. Bari is not taking enough middys.

We just aren’t playing to our personnel strengths and our personnel’s strengths don’t really fit well together. We aren’t gonna win playing like this. Losing to the Hornets and Spurs is super discouraging.

Pretty bad dude tbh. Everybody struggled early. Sengun shat the bed completely after struggling, looked like he either checked out or was psyched out because SOCHAN was shutting him down after the early ****. Tari helped get the energy up, Cam found a way to score, Jalen showed alpha-superstar mentality right towards the end to try and will us into contention. Jabari missed 2 big shots then Jalen fumbled a fast break pass to Cam and by that point we'd blown our last chance tbh.

This isn't meant to be an excuse, but I hate when one team has to play on a second night of a back-to-back while the other gets to play after a day's rest. Just make it fair and have both teams be on the same back-to-back schedule.

If it is about parity, abolish Home and Away Games and play all games in Las Vegas.....we had the bubble.

Play 40 Games like College and no more B2B games.

    Lakers would win everything.

Not sure about parity, but my suggestion would be to have both teams be on the second night of a back-to-back, instead of just one. It would probably make for some sloppy basketball, but at least they would be on somewhat equal footing.

Fewer games would probably work, too.

How about two games of pre-season for each team in the league instead of 4 or 5. Use the additional weeks to eliminate most back-to-backs in regular season.

LOL This fool really did say it.

9 minutes without scoring (or 3 points)? We gotta fix our defense!

    https://www.houstonchronicle.com/sports/rockets/article/san-antonio-spurs-game-recap-19865145.php

On Saturday, the difference between the Rockets in one half compared to the other was so great that they scored more points on the first possession of the third quarter (four) than they had in the final 9 ½ minutes of the second quarter (three). But Udoka was more concerned with the slow-footed start defensively.

Some of those offensive issues, Udoka said, came from the same shortcoming, with the first-half defense unable to get the offense going.

“It’s hard to play with pace, it’s hard to get out and get open looks in transition… when we’re not getting stops,” Udoka said. “Gave up 38 in the first quarter. That’s two games in a row now that we haven’t guarded at all to start the game. You go from that to (allowing) 24 in the second, 25, 22, that’s obviously manageable. We’re digging our way out the rest of the game.”

“Once we decided to be aggressive and play the way we’re capable of, it became a game. We had our chances at the end, as well.”

It's funny that your takeaway from last nights game was this. The whole reason we were down 20 plus is because sengun picked up his 3rd foul in the second quarter with 5:14 remaining and the rockets scored 3 points the rest of the quarter. He didn't play well but I'm sure he could helped us in that situation, however if the team played so well without him how did we only score 3 points in over 5 minutes of play, don't let a fake comeback fool you.

as long as rockets continue to jack up threes at this pace these are games we are going to get. When they go in it'll look good and when they don't we will have a really tough time scoring. The system needs to change.

also I don't know what game you been watching cuz his posts up are few and far between. Most of the game he's just setting screens which makes no sense, he could make the game so much easier for Jalen.

also this kind of intensity and effort is not something you can sustain every game, even for a whole game. We are supposed to be in the game easily, not trying extremely hard.

What exactly stopped us from scoring?
