I mean, how is 2-8 from the field and 1-2 from free throw line good for any of our player's standard, let alone Sengun's standards? He was uncharacteristically bad and got benched, and the team was making a run when he was on the bench. That's really all there is to it. The team was on a back to back and on the road, this wasn't exactly an easy game.
This was sengun worst game out of the three. Man got exposed and then benched. We only lost by 3 but if sengun plays like this he's gonna get bench more often. I wish we have harden to set up buckets for sengun knstead of whatever fvv is doing
The whole team wasn't play badly, stop that sengun victimhood nonsense. Sengun was awful this game full stop. This wasn't a usual sengun performance. Sengun haters are gleefully celebrating a one off game, but it wild some sengun only fan can't even admit sengun just flat out sucked this game. Players were scoring at will in the paint and he was whiffing and forcing bad plays. I'm not too worried but his performance is trending down since game 1
Sengun is and will be our best player for a long time. That being said, he played horrible this game for whatever the reason. I wish we had Edey on the bench to back him up
Wemby was extra motivated tonight. Guess Sengun will have to drop 55 on his head now to teach him a lesson.
To be fair, Wemby also got massively better at reading the game during the Summer and the Olympics. Sengün dropping that bomb was Wemby in the Infant stage of a Xenomorph.
He is slower into his moves because we have to keep in mind what Ime told him he wants from him, baiting the double teams. It's just a bad idea, thought the same last year. It should be organically. The FG% is going to come around. It's 3 games. 7 put backs on his own misses, Eason like. The put shot and the flamingo shot have only been used twice. 2/2.
Who's celebrating? I'm an Alpi fan and I'm pissed off he played ****, he deserved to be benched the same way Green (my favourite Rocket) deserved to be benched last season when he wasn't keeping up his end. It's the SOF's who are wanting special treatment for Alpi, they weren't advocating for anybody else to get to "play their way back into it" last season...
I’m not disagreeing with you. It’s the NBA, guys are going to have bad nights. But are there instances where a coach should stick with his guy even if he’s stinking up the joint?
I would agree with benching a guy if he doesn't give full effort. That's not what I saw yesterday. Yes, he missed a few shots and maybe got in his head after getting blocked. But I really don't know what offense Ime is trying to run.
I'm rapidly losing faith in Sengun. Also, I'm not really sure he's compatible with Ime. I think if we want to keep Ime as the coach we might need to look into trading Sengun for someone that can succeed with his coaching style. Also, I actually agree with @the11mingdynasty, I don't think we should be benching guys that we've paid hundreds of millions to. This goes for Jalen too. At some point it's about empowering your players and lifting them up, rather than putting them down and telling them you don't believe in them.
Why is everybody all of a sudden forgetting that Sengun himself said he likes to be coached hard? Flat out stated that he's used to being cussed out and having hard discipline if he's not playing well and that was a big reason he preferred Ime over Silas? ALPI ****ING WANTS THIS. It's only his pussified fans who want to follow him around licking his sweat up who want him to be treated with kiddy gloves ffs.
