Alp and Jalen can play together. The problem is that we've decided to start forcing it to Sengun in the post this year rather than have him play at the top of the key where he has been very effective in past years. Apparently 3 rockets staff members were sent to Turkey this summer and whatever the **** they did is not working. Just let Sengun play his game and let Jalen get more dribble hand offs from Sengun, it works great.

Very disappointed with the offensive approach this season. I know the playbook is limited, but we shouldn't go away from what worked well in the past. Otherwise we will see the combination of Alp and Green struggle if we keep clogging up the lane with Alp post ups.

I get it, but Jabari when adjusted for minutes was our 2nd best 3 point shooter last season. I think it feels like he can't shoot because of his misses are always like...wide open...then he bricks them. Which, it feels wrong because we literally drafted him and expected a deadeye shooter who doesn't miss wide open shots, but he does.

IDK, I feel like he gets a lot of flack around here meanwhile other NBA fans all seem to think he's a good prospect that they'd like to have interestingly enough. Just saw last night Grizzly fans talking about how they needed players like Jabari Smith meanwhile our fans are trying to kick him off the team.

I feel like he plays the role asked of him and is one of the only guys on the team that isn't forcing up 7 bad shots per game. He usually takes one stupid fade away mid range (because he's been trying to add that to his game) but other than that all the shots he takes are either right under the rim or wide open. I wish more of our players would find a role and play it.

Jabari's shot is all mental, I'm pretty convinced of that. I think he's worth investing in seeing his age but the problem is I think he's going to get bigger money and more opportunity elsewhere. I still think he's a great prospect but Rockets should probably field trade offers for him while he's still a prospect as I'm sure we can get a solid vet piece back for him right now somewhere.

One of the things Pops does so well is he always has a great coaching staff.

Ime NEEDS an OC or something and if we have one then we either need a new one or Ime needs to let the OC take full control of constructing the offense because what we are doing isn't working.

A 9 minute scoring drought is insane. Almost went an entire quarter without scoring. That's 100% on coaching.

The DHO shouldn’t be at the high area it should come at the elbows so defenders have to be on him. He can attack on the drive or shoot in this 15ft area. Most teams run DHO’s on elbows. That’s what makes Jokic special is he has so many options at that high set. He can hand off, shoot, drive, get a screen, or hit guys on slips screens or baseline cuts. Sengun is not Jokic. At least not yet

Sengun along with FVV can be a real culprit of our methodical and predictable pace when we get into halfcourt sets. Some players are more comfortable beating their man by going slow and off rhythm then by going quick.

Also, going back to the Silas days, he can be slow to make kick outs because it seems like he doesn't trust that the guy getting the pass can/will shoot it.

Tonight the Spurs were really locked into their gapping, almost playing a zone when we got into any PnR or post-up touches for Sengun, and flooding the paint with help when he got into his move. To beat that defense you have to make decisions fast -- commit the 2nd guy, kick out, and take the shot. We failed at it over and over.

The worst thing is that he's not even running basic, simple and tried and tested methods to create a mismatch or space whilst being a coach who came up under POP, one of the best coaches at running basic, simple and tried and tested actions to create a mismatch or space...

Jabari just recorded 16/17 last night give him and Sengun some slack.

Udoka should have adjusted and played the other guys more. Landale, Jeff Green, Tate...we have a deep bench Udoka doesnt use it. Even the 1 guy who played great Jalen Green didnt play the most minutes. Just bad coaching on multiple aspects.

I liked the job Udoka did last season but seems like he just sat on his ass all summer long.

The one positive I can see is Jalen has played great 3/3 games. He has risen to the occasion every time the team needed him.

I saw him with glasses as Arthur Curry incognito and in hiding.

you’d think he’d have fixed or adjusted his shot by now…it’s year 3 and that jumper is still flat as a board with no arc

this was one of the best shooting prospects for a big coming into the league in quite a while…if I knew nothing about Jabari in college, there’s no way I’d believe he was considered an elite shooter at one point

People don't wanna hear it, but running everything through Alpi as option 1 is the opposite of maximising our roster. Make Jalen the focus on offense and Alpi the back-up option (ie, we tried pace, it didn't work, so create a mismatch and dump it in the post for him to work) and all of a sudden the increased pace works better for the rest of our youth. We're a team of super athletes focused around grandpa ball with an ageing overpaid PG and a very talented C who should still be a heavy focus, but not to the detriment of the pace that maximises everybody else.

I cape for Bari more than anyone here. I know the real reason everyone gets so mad at bari is because of the potential of bari. bari is 7'0 and cant make a turnaround over 6 footers. 7'0 at the top of the key should be money. dude is staring at the rim when he jumps, shooting straight line jumpers. it should be much easier for him.

    I understand the frustration.

He’s the best point guard on the roster and Amen and Reed are no where near ready to take his spot, but I am getting tired of Fred. He is not being the floor general that we need. I wouldn’t mind the Rockets getting another veteran point guard and moving on from Fred.

I think you meant to quote someone else, I'm the main one giving Jabari slack tonight.

I've also said Sengun will be alright, I'm not trying to trade him or anything...but he objectively was terrible tonight. That's all I've said, I'm not making any final decisions on any of these guys. I'm the last guy that is ready to throw guys off the team after a bad game or even a bad season.

I called that we'd split with SAS and this was a b2b so I expected we'd lose this game any ways, I'm not too upset about it but a win would have been nice of course. This is a 40-50 win team...

UNLESS Jalen plays like he did every night, then...who knows. Jalen was kind of special there in that 4th qtr, you could tell he said 'alright I'm putting the team on my back and getting this W' and he did...he did do that, just guys didn't make shots. Brooks and Bari both missed big shots, Bari's 2nd miss in the clutch was stupid even if it was open because he just missed a shot and should have passed it out but I'm not upset.

I just hope moving forward Ime trusts Cam more and I hope Jalen has this focus every night to be great because he can be.

I agree with this, but it also falls on Udoka and his assistant coaches to train Sengun to make quicker reads on offense. The Rockets invested $291 million into Sengun and Jalen Green. They have to be able to function well together offensively, not just be staggered on the court and take turns running the offense like the Harden and Chris Paul days.

The last play tells Udoka is terrible on game plan.

Nobody set a ****ing screen for Jalen.
