Obscure is kind of relative. This is the first movie that popped in my head. Maybe not obscure in the 1950's when released, but obscure now. Billy Wilder, but not well known like "Some Like it Hot". Frentic pace sutable for modern ADD sensabilities. Coca Cola man in West Berlin right after WWII as communism clashes with capitalism.
Andy Richter Controls the Universe I've mentioned these before, and I'm not sure how obscure they are but this writer/director (S. Craig Zahler) is on my radar for whatever else he does: Bone Tomahawk Brawl in Cell Block 99 Dragged Across Concrete Also, randomly: The Guard (Brendan Gleeson & Don Cheadle) House of Lies (cable series w/ Cheadle) The General (Gleeson)
It’s not obscure in Ireland and the UK but more so in the US. Father Ted. Mr Inbetween is an Aussie show about a mob enforcer. It was on FX but not sure if it’s still in. The low key attitude of Ray the enforcer and heavy accents are really interesting. For people who like Reacher even though the characters are very physically different there is a similar feel to the show of bad dangerous men making sense of the World.
It's a random-aged BBS, I have no idea what you people know or do not, and I threw out "dunno if obscure or not" caveats earlier. But yes that is a great movie, glad you liked it. Now go read the book "Clockers" and then watch the movie (or vice versa)
Dollhouse Joss Whedon TV show starring Eliza Dushku. Only lasted 2 seasons, but the show runners knew season 2 would be the end so the season 2 finale is a very good series finale.
one of my favorite shows of all time. a masterpiece as far as something real and different. This scene is from the first episode.
Bubba Ho-Tep won't change your life but it is a lot of fun. Bruce Campbell hams it up. Anybody who hasn't seen Army of Darkness should.
