Im going to sound a bit harsh but is this a white privlige thing? Being accepting of people who support politicians who do blood libel claims of ethnic minorities? Do you understand the effects on actual lives with a Trump presidency for minority groups not just from a Trump presidency being authoritarian but the base of supporters increasing harassment and hate crimes on there groups that Donald Turnp decides to rhetorically target for the week. One week it's Hatians, next week it's Venezuelans etc. I'm at a point where I can't respect someone who voted for Trump at this point. I can be amicable to someone who is a life long conservative and just is like "I dip out of this election. No one represents me here". But we are talking about a dude who does actual blood libel being president. There are certain thresholds leaders cross where support of said leader expresses a moral character of said individual and Trump has cleared that threshold. I don't think you understand that there are entire ethnic groups of humans in America that fear a Trump presidency in life or death terms not "my tax rates will go up" terms. They are worried about increased targeted harassment of them
What does the word treason mean to you? Did you vote for Biden? And were you planning on voting for him again until he was kicked to the curb by the Democratic party because he's literally in full blown dementia (and has been for the past 3+ yrs) and yet everyone around him knew this and were ok having the President of our country no different then the village idiot but when it became apparent he had no chance of winning it was only then that it became an issue.
I'd gladly accept a village idiot who doesn't do blood libel of ethnic groups being president than someone who does do blood libel regardless of their intelligence or competency. I don't see the executive branch of the government as a mechanism to solve problems in America. I only see it as an avenue for creating harm by doing things like using the bully pulpit of the presidency to express hate rhetoric and blood libel. So that means in my world view a stapler would be a better president than Donald Trump.
You have no idea that Biden committed Treason and I'm a "loon"??? Clueless on Biden and Hunter and his family????
I'm not going to go round and round with someone who's in denial. Before the election last time no main stream media would even mention Hunter Biden and his computer (and what was on it). I mean someone mentioning this was crazy. Funny how everything about it was TRUE and it pretty much showed what the crackhead and his V.P. father were up to and you're going to sit here and call me a "loon"? Obviously treason means nothing to you.
The concept of children of major politicians using the clout of their parents to gain access to wealthy executive gigs is ubiquitous across all party lines. If Trump wants to overrule congressional and state department advice on maintaining a boycott on a Chinese telecom company because his daughter's trademarks being approved by the CCP to sell her fashion line there hinges on a quid pro quo between Trump and CCP to remove sanctions on ZTE, I'm sure you would be outraged.... If both political parties abuse this nepotism then I prefer the side that abuses it but aren't fascist.
He would be thrown out of a women's restroom that ATW says he should use. He would probably be subject to violence as well.
Is it a white privilege thing? I don’t know, I do believe it is a privilege issue. I won’t say it’s necessarily white because I know plenty of women and minorities that support Donald Trump… also I know a number of Jews and Muslims that have expressed support for killing or hurting the other group. I will vote against people that are oppressive and I will point it out - but I will not alienate myself from every Trump voter.
Don't alienate yourself with family members and loved ones who are Turnp supporters. They need a mechanism to have a soft out and a loved one is a good person for that. I don't see any utility in expressing this empathy to clowns on this message board who defend the fascist.
Well then sincerely how do you not see racism in a person voting for a man who does blood libel claims of entire groups and defends it with "I saw it on TV"? Racism might not be their entire identity. It might not be their primary driving force. But you have to be somewhat racist to accept that the person you are voting for says stuff like migrants "poisoning the blood of this country".
Along these lines, when one side is actively seeking to curtail the rights of a group of people, we can't expect interpersonal relations between conservatives and liberals to stay warm and fuzzy. Should a gay person tolerate his parent's supporting a party that would legally deny him/her/they the right to love, marry and have carnal relations (not necessarily in that order)? Should a working woman tolerate her community telling her that her place is to care for the home and raise kids? Should a person of color tolerate his/her/their friends constantly saying or implying that his/her/their position at the job was unearned (due to some nebulous bogeyman like DEI or CRT)? No I don't think we should ever go back to a time where it was DEMANDED that families and friends put politics aside for the sake of civility. That's exactly what MLK condemned in his famous letter and his point 60 years ago still holds true now. So much of the rancor we've seen is the reaction of the conservatives receiving pushback on their bigotry (casual or explicit). It is neither moral nor realistic to expect those on the receiving end of bigotry to stay silent.
This is what I was referring to with Nook about "white privlige" which I admit is a controversially charged accusation but the people saying stuff about being kind to MAGA or "his hate rhetoric is less concerning than his policies" have to understand that the hate rhetoric might affect others more than some middle aged white male which I'm sure is the predominant user base of this site. It's easy for a middle aged white male to be cordial to MAGA even if they don't like MAGA.
I think we can all agree the Hunter was a bad person, looks like he is sober now and I don't know him but he was a POS for many reasons. To try and tie that to his dad is disingenuous, Comer and Jordan tried for months to find any dirt and could not, then comes to find out the Russian agents were their source and they were idiots. Hunter never worked in the WH, what is you're feeling about Ivanka getting patents from China while working for her dad and her Husband getting Billions from the Saudi`s while he worked for the campaign? If we're ever going to have decent conversations, we have to be able to see our own flaws before calling out others..................there are warts on both sides, but these one-sided arguments pronouncing that the "other side" is always wrong and my side is always right not a debate, it's a twitter meme, which if your into that, cool. I find it to be hot air
