Ime may want to design plays to free up Reed when the others are unable to make their outside shots. What does he have to lose? I noticed that Reed's teammates are still adjusting to him and they do not yet trust him in the offense. He was open a few times last night but did not get the pass even while Sengun was double/triple teamed and getting hacked every time he was in the paint. Let's see how Reed can help by setting him up for some shots when everyone else is missing theirs.

he simply isn’t not ready right now. Guess the question is whether to give him big minutes or ease him in or not play him at all. If they want to win now making him a major rotational player isn’t it. That’s why it’s difficult implementing rookies into an established core trying to win now. Guess it comes down to whether he’s good enough to play a role in that rotation.

Really like Tre Mann in OKC. Was surprised they traded him.

He looks overwhelmed by the size/speed/athleticism out there right now. He doesn't trust his ability to get separation without a screen. I hope that he can show his worth with more time once he gets comfortable and things slow down. It remains to be seen if/when that will happen.

The dude can shoot, but he needs space and lacks the quick trigger of a Curry. I think you could use him as a spacer, a la Ryan Anderson, or perhaps running off screens, a la Reggie Miller/Rip Hamilton. The offense does not seem to use him in these ways, however. Perhaps he doesn't have the stamina for the latter, or the deep deep range for the former.

This game somewhat reminded me of Silas' days. Jalen wasn't used effectively or coached well enough. The blame for this lies with Alpy and Ime.

Too reckless for little gain. If Jalen had taken the shots he had, we would have been winning by a wide margin.

It seems the coaching staff was toying around with the lineups and took the game for granted. (And that’s fine as they are trying to figure out what work best). There were far too many wasted possessions, and the game was lost because of that. Yes, those last few plays were critical, but it shouldn’t have come to that.

I have that sinking Houston sports fan feeling. You know, where you realize that regardless of hype and elevated expectations, Houston sports will continue to confuse, frustrate, and disappoint.
I was very high on Smith coming out of Auburn. In college he was a dead eye shooter and skilled defender. He has not progressed in the NBA as I expected. Still young, but disappointing so far.

Jalen should never have a shot diet where 65% of his shots come from the 3

I'm more interested in Coach Udoka figuring out who on the team can throw a good lob and have the guy on the court occasionally doing it. We have enough targets. Maybe the skill would be catching. We shouldn't need Harden in order to accomplish the "feat."

Coach Udoka hasn't figured out to teach players that if there's a man in front of you on a pick and roll, kick the ball to the corner. I was taught that at 12 years old, so I've not got much hope in him figuring out much else on the offensive end of the court if I'm honest.

Got to stay healthy. And likely what I envisioned Cade would be yet made peace that it is Melo.
