Its tru what he is saying about defense. We held them strong in the first half and were sloppy in the 2nd half. We stsrted losing the hustle plays.

We lost game 1 last year worse and ultimately turned it around strongly. This game wasnt nearly as bad as that one. Lets see how things turn out

I actually genuinely want Beard back now. He's the offensive genius we need to lead our better youngsters to the promised land. We've got the firepower and fresh legs to make up for his advanced age and Udoka can keep the defense up whilst he runs the offense from the court. End the ridiculous legacy destroying national tour and make the strippers happy again. All will be forgiven when he gets that redemption chip before taking over as offensive coordinator/genius behind the tough guy puppet coach in his retirement...

 

The issue with the Beard is the way he's a offensive genius is being ball dominant. Is that something we want when we are trying to train up Sengun, Jalen and possibly guys like Amen or Reed to be on ball creators?

To be fair, Maxey seemed to develop well under a year of Harden.

 

It started to feel like only adjustment Ime is capable of is turning to switch defense.

 

Amen as a lob threat to Harden scores way more than either he does under Udoka or Jabari does ever, come on now. It's like Capela with 3 times the hops haha. Reed can run the second unit and learn from Harden how to leverage superior shooting and a game not predicated on jumping out of the building. PnR with Sengun (and knowing how to actually run one and which reads to make to dish to the perimeter) is unguardable. Jalen - see Maxey with more speed and twice the hops...No brainer.

Also, Beard isn't "ball dominant" the way he was his final years with us where it's just him playing by himself with 4 guys stood still, he's just a great PG now.

 

Our guys were soft and we need to be harder. Charlotte had a bunch of hard guys tonight that were banging us inside. We’ve got to be hard against Memphis and pound them.

He's also on almost 10million less than FVV this year, so not only is he significantly (and I mean MASSIVELY) better, he's also a lot cheaper.
