Normally only for players like Paul George who are way past it. It's not as valuable as you have been making it out to be.

There’s tons of players you could trade for, you have no clue who will be available a year from now. It’s also much more valuable then literally nothing, which is what you gain by extending sengun now

I don't think we will be going after one big name with the space. It is mostly about having options especially if someone awesome becomes avaliable for a trade.

It is also worth noting we will need cap space to re-sign Fred. He would have been here 2 years which is only enough for early bird rights. Declining his option and extending him long term in a likely option.

I doubt we are looking to tie up big, long term money unless a star becomes avaliable. I expect you will be right about the max/near max players in a year or 2.

I'm even shocked that they did extensions instead of going to rfa.

Boy did I get this wrong - I did not think Jalen would settle for a below max deal, but he did and he has 2 more years at a reasonable rate, and if a superstar breaks loose his contract might be used.

    OR

He continues to develop becomes more efficient and stays right here in Houston.

I am very impressed with both Stone and Jalen and Alpi - this could have gotten ugly, and I for one, even though I doubt Jalen will ever be a superstar, am happy we get 2 more years or so to see.

We may have kicked the can down the road a bit, but how SWEET THAT IS......Let's roll !!!

It is less than the max but you can call it near Max. Alpe won't starve on it.

I think they were signed to on to good deals but these two guys as Num 1 and 2 will not cut it for us.

Need to trade BOTH while they have some value. This is not a hot take. I have said this last season as well.
