Barbecue Inn does have some wonderful Fried Chicken as well as maybe the best Fried Shrimp in the city. the BBQ is average but everything fried is phenomenal
It’s 11:56 pm and I just went to Barbecue Inn’s website to peruse the menu of a restaurant I’ve eaten at a lot over the course of my life lol
Had a Popeye`s open up by my work and I am just not impressed with their food, I like Strips and there just kind of plain, even the spicy style. I do like the red beans and rice, but overall, I wasn't feeling it......
Popeye’s used to be good 20 years ago. It was the king of fast food chicken. But now? The places around here are dirty and what I’d consider the bottom of the fast food chicken chain. The chicken is ok but all the fixins are way below average.
Popeyes really downgraded their chicken sando from 3-4 years ago Every time a chain goes international for profits they cut corners with food quality and offerings to finance expansion. Yum with the exception of taco bell has mostly been downhill domestically for the past decades
Church's was good, and the go-to back in my childhood, Popeye's was mediocre and too greasy. Now there's this: https://www.chron.com/culture/article/churchs-chicken-texas-original-recipe-19880948.php If you're ever interested, the co-founder has a bigass ranch up here, and it's great to tour. https://texashighways.com/outdoors/...d-a-legacy-reaching-far-beyond-his-fenceline/
They went to Nashville, ate at Prince's and came back with ... tenders. Damn, people, quit screwing up chicken and use real chicken pieces. lol. She's right about Prince's, though. Damn good chicken and it's how hot chicken should be done. They have options for both chicken pieces and for the kids that like tenders. This is like Bojangles supposedly having great fried chicken out East and when they came to Texas they decide they'll just do tenders instead. Wth.
So weird. I just went to Wild Fork Foods yesterday and saw they sell whole quail. They sell all kinds of crap. Octopus, quail, whole suckling pig, seafood...
