    WTF are you talking about????

Daidiot made a comment that "Democrats are better for the country" and "it's not even close".

As I said in my initial post I am neither DEM or REP. I followed that up by pointing out major U.S. cities (that are DEM run and have been for years) are being run into the ground and that people and corporations and businesses are leaving in droves. So if DEM policies are "always" better why is this happening?

If you want to have your head up your @$$ like Daidiot have at it. One of these days you'll realize that both of these parties are corrupt as hell and they're BOTH running this country into the ground. So you and the other idiots on here keep on believing that the DEM = the good guys and that the REP = the bad guys.

Give me a MAJOR city that is not Dem run. You might find a couple. Most businesses who have left these cities left for tax reasons

They left for more then just "tax reasons", but to focus on just that, who in the hell do you think created those crazy tax issues that made them want to leave?

During the administration of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, from 1953 to 1961, the top income bracket in the United States climbed to a marginal tax rate of 91 percent. Taxes on corporate profits were two times as great as they are in 2017, and that’s before the current proposal to cut that rate to 21 percent. The tax on large estates rose to more than 70 percent. Businesses operated under a relatively high tax burden, and they employed a labor force in which one-third of the workers were unionized and bargained with executives as equals. Corporations served a diversity of stakeholders as opposed to stockholders. The result was a booming economy that benefited most Americans.

The corporations are leaving because many a Republican run state incentivises them to relocate -- at their residents' expense.

People I'm automatically skeptical of in the D&D

    "I'm not a Democrat or a Republican"
    "I identify as a libertarian"
"I've been a moderate all my life"
    "Both sides are the same"
    "The democratic party left me..."

It's not really that difficult. Go back and look at the Title of the thread and what OP had to say in his opening post. I'm responding to his premise that the DEMS are "better" for America and that they're the good guys. If you want to talk about the REP that's a different discussion.

We will thrive either way. A lot of people are arrogant enough to believe otherwise. The most arrogant will start threads stating otherwise.

I’ve accepted that idiots may vote Trump back in. However, i am not afraid for myself. I am afraid for women and immigrants and the DAMAGE Trump will do to this country because he will think he is King. 1st thing he will do is Pardon himself. The next thing is go after all his enemies UNCHECKED. The only hope is that the Democrats keep the Senate and/or take the House. It is going to be a LONG 4 years. Hell, I think Trump would try weasel is way into a 3rd term. God help us.

I don't see people fearing one outcome as arrogant necessarily. You could say some people are deluded, I guess. I'm not sure which fears are founded and which ones are not. I do fear lots of what's written in Project 2025 or whatever they call that cut-n-pasted pile of dumbassery.

Lots of people really feel they have legit stakes in such an election with two very different visions.

Maybe thread starting in itself is kinda arrogant. We might totally agree on that, haha.

"I'm not a Democrat or a Republican" Translation: I'm about to rip on the Democrat(s)
"I identify as a libertarian" Translation: I vote Republican but find the stink washes off easier this way
"I've been a moderate all my life" Translation: InfoWars is my homepage
"Both sides are the same" Translation: I'm about to rip on the Democrats again
"The democratic party left me..." Translation: There are too many alphabet people and Blacks now

Even if I voted for republicans before, GOP is not even GOP anymore - they are just protecting super rich & distract uneducated portion of society with simple ideas that stopping immigration will result in better life for them. The rest of GOP's usual agenda is no where to be seen anymore. The party of cringe con men & other "fine people"

Ironic to hear that people judge how well liberals are doing by the fact that super rich are moving away from higher taxed places. Let Musk do jumping jacks wherever he wants. He probably thinks he can lay off all his employees and have AI do all the work soon. He is also so rich that he no longer makes economically viable calls - he ran Twitter into the ground.

    Afraid to admit what?

That I need a label to describe who I am? What if by chance one label doesn't encompass every aspect of what I believe? What if in some areas of my life I'm more conservative and in other areas I'm not?

Like I said before both of these parties are running this country into the ground but you and the other idiots on here can keep on thinking the DEM are the good guys and the REP are the bad guys.

Ignoring the short-term impact of four or even eight years, I absolutely believe this, if not for one man. Whatever mistakes are made can be corrected, but there is one that might not be correctable.

Donald Trump Is the Tyrant George Washington Feared - The Atlantic

Some Americans seem unable to accept how much peril they face should Trump return, perhaps because many of them have never lived in an autocracy. They may yet get their chance: The former president is campaigning on an authoritarian platform. He has claimed that “massive” electoral fraud—defined as the vote in any election he loses—“allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution.” He refers to other American citizens as “vermin” and “human scum,” and to journalists as “enemies of the people.” He has described freedom of the press as “frankly disgusting.” He routinely attacks the American legal system, especially when it tries to hold him accountable for his actions. He has said that he will govern as a dictator—but only for a day.

Trump is the man the Founders feared might arise from a mire of populism and ignorance, a selfish demagogue who would stop at nothing to gain and keep power. Washington foresaw the threat to American democracy from someone like Trump: In his farewell address, he worried that “sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction” would manipulate the public’s emotions and their partisan loyalties “to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of public liberty.”

Many Americans in 2016 ignored this warning, and Trump engaged in the greatest betrayal of Washington’s legacy in American history. If given the opportunity, he would betray that legacy again—and the damage to the republic may this time be irreparable.

It is more this kind of IGNONRANCE that is hurting this country, - yes, both parties have issues, but they are NOT EQUAL in causing those problems.

It is like saying stealing a pack of gum and murder are equal because they are both illegal.

The GOP is FAR FAR FAR worse than the DEMS - who are hardly perfect, but WAY better for this country.

Don't just throw your hands up and go....THEY ARE BOTH BAD, that is cognitively lazy - deal with the problems.....as a voter.

Force the GOP to clean up it's bullshit, and also force the Dems to do the same.

Currently only the GOP is a threat to this democracy.....so let's start with the big assed PROBLEM first.
