Hell, my dad and I watched him at UT a couple of times. I dunno about 3 best since '70, but he's for sure in the conversation. Maddux Unit ??? Clemens? I'll allow it.
Clemens is better than Maddux and Johnson - although the second half of Johnson's career is arguably better than either half of Clemens. I would add Pedro Martinez to that list - his prime was arguably the best ever. Tom Seaver, Steve Carlton, Nolan Ryan, Greg Maddux, Randy Johnson and Pedro Martines are the ones that pop out - but careerwise I don't think any of them compare to Roger Clemens... probably have to go back to Walter Johnson to find someone that was that career dominant..... 7 Cy Youngs, finished in the top 3 - 11 times..... had almost 150 WAR for his career. Lead the league in FIP 10 times...... I still would take Pedro Martinez, Bob Gibson and Curt Shilling over him in a one game playoff though
2024 was the worst year for baseball. Astros losing to the tigers and Yankees in the World Series. Bring on 2025!! A new frontier
Clayton Kershaw... Injuries derailed him from being GOAT, but he's pretty similar to Pedro. Ignore his sour grapes because he couldn't hold a big lead in game 5. And yes, I would take Clemens career over any modern pitcher, ignoring the human being side of it.
Kershaw has a long, long postseason resume....of being bad. In conversation for all time greatest regular season pitcher... wouldn't want him near the mound in a big game. He honestly should be thanking the Astros, the one game against us has taken all the heat for his postseason failures.
Tell me more about Elon being unethical. I see him as this generations Benjamin Franklin. A lady that used to work for me said Tillman gave T-Bone Toms and 2 more restaurants at a discounted price to the people she now works for because they helped Tillman's business get off of the ground. Also I've heard that he treats people who work for him at his casinos well. So Tillman isn't all bad. However I'm not impressed by the food and service in Lake Charles. The food and service is much better in Vegas Some of the dislike for guys like Elon and Tillman appears to be that people don't like or are flat out jealous of billionaires IMHO
I can see them trying to platoon CF or 1B... but not enough roster spots for both. And with CF, Chas and Jake both being righties doesn't really help, and Chas lost a step this year (perhaps, injury related). Catcher is said even if Caratini is dealt and any comparative advantage is lost if Yanier is moved to a different position. Anyone not named Bregman would be a significant downgrade at third even if he bats sub .230 in the first half again. Verlander or Kikuchi stay because the team simply can't rely on any of the injured arms to come back healthy. I wouldn't be surprised if Graveman returns on a minor league deal considering injury and age.
I'm more annoyed by billionaires that take credit for work they didn't do or undercut the folks that got them there -- and use their wealth to protect themselves from accountability. Elon is more Louis XVIII than Benjamin Franklin in his extravagance. https://www.reuters.com/technology/...s-against-elon-musk-twitter-probe-2024-09-20/ https://houseofhouston.com/2020/03/...-tilman-fertitta-landrys-employees-questions/
Please tell me more about the misinformation he's spreading. I look forward to the day when he's in charge of reducing the federal governments waste. He's proven he can do this with Twitter.
Elon is looking to put a man on Mars in 2 years and is going to get 2 astronauts from the space station because of another Boeing screwup. He also saved free speech in America and helped prove the BS Dorsey, Zuckerberg were pulling. I would say he's doing a great job..
As a general rule, billionaires are incredibly bad stewards of capital. They tank the velocity of capital which dramatically reduces productivity and innovation. But aside from that Elon Musk has turned into an anti-American shitbird who is actively trying to undermine our democracy with lies to serve his own interests and delusions. The fact that folks like you buy into it and idolize him is really sad. The idea that Elon Musk is strengthening free speech in any way is ludicrous, and I will circle back to your comment in 2 years to point out what a fool you were to buy Musk’s bs about a man on mars; check his litany of empty promises on fsd alone. Not that it’ll shake you from your ignorance. Your idea of efficiency wrt Twitter is insane. Musk has managed to reduce Twitters revenue by 80%.
What about ABC, CBS, and NBC news anchors. How about George Soros, an admitted communist billionaire, that is making a play to own 60% of the radio stations in America. If Elon was stumping for Harris, I’m sure your opinion would be the exact opposite. All these media bums on the left and right are ruining this country. They don’t have a lick of integrity, including Elon.
Well I guess you want the rest of the country to turn into San Francisco. He bought Twitter not to make money, but to give everybody a place to exercise free speech. You got a problem with that? Meanwhile Zuckerberg, Dorsey worked in concert with the federal government to try to stifle free speech. In fact the Hunter Biden laptop is a great example of this. They knew about this for a year and hid it from voters. Musk has never done anything like this But hey, your mind is made up. I'm a free market capitalist. That's not what the Dems are. Musk hasn't mislesd anybody
Who said anything about Dems? If you think Elon Musk actually bought Twitter to preserve free speech, you’re a rube. San Francisco, Hunter’s laptop…play the hits. You’re pitiful.
