In the end I guess it was a draw. There was just too much of each party claiming the other parties facts were wrong, and that each side was incorrect or not accurate. I think Cheney had a slightly more commanding presence, but at times his attacks against Edwards seemed vicious without purpose. It was almost like he was just looking for an openinig to attack on a vicious level. Edwards was a little jittery, less experienced, and at times forced in his talking points rather than making them seem organic.
I thought the spin began at the start of the debate. I'm extremely dizzy right now. It was fairly close and not a very informative debate or useful in any sense, but if you had to declare a winner, I think Edwards won, but I must also admit that I'm biased.
I heard all of that. That was not even a case that had bearing on the healtcare system. That was a consumer products case. It's one thing to just come out and say that frivolous cases will be dis-allowed, but how are they really going to accomplish it? I'm not sure that the high courts are so bogged down. They problem seems to be more with the outlandish rewards which are impacting the ability of physicians to practice.

I like edwards, but I'm sure glad he didn't get the presidential nomination. Rove and company would have eaten him alive on the experience issue even though Bush had less experience before he became president.
Why would a moderate award for a frivilous case be ok? Why shouldn't someone who was killed by a company who knowingly distributed faulty equipment get as much money as possible? With the Kerry/Edwards plan innocent victims get everything they deserve, and people trying to milk the system get nothing. That sounds like a common sense plan.
I think both candidates did well. Edwards sometimes came across as over-eager and Cheney often seemed uncaring, but they both presented their issues very well. And issues should determine votes. There was much more substance than at the Bush slaughter last week. Too bad it's their only debate.
Both Cheney and Edwards did a much better job and presented more coherent answers than Bush and Kerry.
I had to laugh. MSNBC did a hatchet job after the debate. Chris Matthews was silent. Two hardcore rightwingers vs. the wimpy Ronald Reagan Jr. Well the public has spoken. 186,00 votes 74% for Edwards only 26% for the tired old guy. Will the moderators keep looking foolish?
we can debate all we want on who won. however, the guys at msnbc seems to think that chaney kicked edwards @$$. but, it was nice to see two intelligent people go at it by making coherent answers then one blubbering idiot spatting out some words
I guess two people can watch the same event and see it very differently. I thought tonight was a lot of each side saying the other side had the facts wrong. I thought the Bush/Kerry debate had more clearly debated issues. I don't think that the issues were absent from tonights debate, just that they didn't take center stage like they did the other night.
Cheney won. He didn't kill him, but he won. And he stopped the bleeding for now. It won't last. Bush has to do the next two.
