Sure, but there has to he a reason. A kpj situation, a watson situation. There’s no reason to root against jalen whatsoever

Fair enough man, my brain just can't compute rooting against a player on the team breaking out. Maybe there are some who would be upset about it, regardless of how insane it is to me. I can't speak for everyone, nor should I.

I like how our guys are looking man.

I see an efficient 25 ppg out of Jalen Green this year.

I do have to agree, sticking to your guns when times are hard and heavy.

For me it was the standard, obviously his ceiling was relatively high but to get there, that was the question and overall I still do not think you can compensate the mediocre shooting with just one Reed Sheppard.

But you at least checked one of your boxes with a 24-25 ppg potential scorer if he gets more consistent.

You do not have to pine for Booker like pining for a drop of water in the desert. And go over to compare who is the worst superstar or the best superstar......

With that said, it is going to be a long way.

You are arguing with three of the four biggest Jalen defenders on the forum ..... & @Mathloom must be asleep or it would be 4/4.

You have to know where this is going .... walk away!

(I completely agree with your take on the situation ....)

Busts don't typically shred the league for stretches of weeks at a time, albeit inconsistently. Busts are your Hasheem Thabeet, Adam Morrison, Anthony Bennets.

Throwing a term like bust at Jalen when we've seen consistent improvement in a lot of areas of his game season to season is just flat out silly.

Same, and it was weird to see that some people think this way. This seems like a really miserable way to watch sports. And to call back to what you said in a previous post, I was also very anti Stroud, I was legitimately sad when the Texans drafted him and I called him a bust before he took a single snap. And now he's my favorite player. It doesn't affect me at all, my buddies make fun of me for it and I laugh along with them. It's got zero impact on my ability to enjoy watching the Texans.

Ya it's weird. I'm fully happy to admit i'm not some amazing know everything scout of college players, especially considering i don't want college football. Laughing about it is my favorite part. If i end up being wrong on Jalen, that's great.

I hate to keep bumping my own thread, but we might have something, boys.

Jalen & Alperen look ready to carry a top-10 offense.

Green had an impressive preseason. This is the most calm and collected he’s been as a professional.

I agree with your first sentence.

Your second sentence however you lost me. What are these areas of consistent improvement from season to season?

Look at advanced stats like VORP and BPM. Obviously his impact has improved primarily on defense over time.

I think you are only evaluating Green through scoring.

    To add to that:

50% of basketball is defensive possessions. If you went from being one of the worst scorers in the NBA to an average scorer, that's how much Green has improved defensively and overall. This happened over one off-season.

In terms of skills, his handles are dramatically better than when he joined.

These two improvements would typically take players half a decade. Lots of players barely ever improve at these two things after their second season.

His finishing at the rim is better. His midrange jumper is better but the stats don't reflect it because he raised his volume too much.

According to Udoka, he's improved his rebounding and passing though the numbers don't reflect it. He's put on a lot of muscle as well.

You could easily argue the he's improved or maintained everything except his jumper. No one in the world would take a year 1 or year 2 Green over year 3 version. I certainly wouldn't.
