In 2022 preseason Jalen Green averaged 22/3/3 on 15 shots. This preseason he averaged 20/3/1 and 14 shots. I have repeatedly said he's a wait and see boom/bust guy for me. And I think it's pretty absurd anyone is going to change their mind on a 4th year player due to preseason games.
But you forgot to mention one this is his 2nd real season. Please don't count Silas years, none is Jalen's fault.
I completely agree with your point about Jalen Green's development. It's crucial to recognize that this is only his second full season, and we shouldn't penalize him for the previous coaching staff's approach under Silas. Every player needs time to adapt and grow, and Jalen has shown flashes of his potential. It's important to give him the opportunity to develop without the baggage of past seasons weighing him down. Focusing on his current progress will provide a more accurate assessment of his abilities and future impact.
Not yet. I fell for this trap too many times so I'll have to see it to believe it. I hope he does turn it around and I will say he does look more composed (like how a veteran would) in the preseason.
Lol then it is Sengün's 6th season due to his 3 years in Türkiye. Only Alpe would tell you that he improved inspite of Silas even.
Non-comically, that's the truth. If we waited Sengun for 6 seasons to take a leap, why can't we do the same for Jalen?
I appreciate that! It really is all about context when evaluating a young player's growth. Jalen has so much talent, and with the right support and development, he can really shine. It’s exciting to think about how he’ll continue to evolve this season. Giving him a fair shot to show what he can do is essential for the team's future. I'm hopeful for what’s to come!
Unite…. As rockets fans maybe? Literally this post is the kind of thing I’m talking about and saying we could use less of in these parts. If you’re aiming this at me specifically you should know Amen is my favorite Rocket and I think Sengun is a beast. Something about me saying I’m over how people support one player and use their success to **** on teammates came across as it’s ok when Jalen fans do it? This mentality is absolute poison. I can’t even say Go Rockets here anymore.
If I have to answer using my own words... no, I'm not buying any stocks yet. But there were good signs in preseason games. His off ball play was impressive. If he consistently makes catch and shoot threes we're gonna be cooking. Let's keep observing how he plays for a couple months more.
Nah man. I’m here because my grandfather used to bring my fam together during the chip year playoffs. That’s the core memory that brought me to the ketchup and mustard. Jalen looking like he’s developing into the guy 4 years later, like 30 years deep into my fandom isn’t what did it. This is what I’m talking about man. You can be happy Jalen is getting it and it’s just face value. Doesn’t mean anything else. Isn’t that so freeing?
Absolutely not. We played bunch of meaningless games. Not only they didn't play their best players they didn't try their best either.
Just my 2 cents. Jalen looks under control and much smoother with his handles. It is allowing him to operate much more efficiently on drives. If he stays consistent with his drives he will still have a strong offensive element when the 3 isn’t falling. It gives me hope that he is turning the corner.
