It is quite long and full of pics. if you aren't interested in art & culture then no reason to read it anyway. Have fun in Detroit whatever you decide to explore.
Apologies, it was meant to be a snarky but lighthearted comment about the irony of having to pay to read about poor artists . I actually am interested. Edit - found it here: https://archive.ph/qfQVA
I get it, no worries. The thing is most artists are poor, there is no money in it except for the very few. It just irks me that as a society we value the arts so little. Good for those “poors” in Detroit
Atlas Obscura always has interesting stuff. Here is the listing for Detroit. https://www.atlasobscura.com/things-to-do/detroit-michigan
Hmmm…I have to travel to Detroit for work in a few weeks. Will be a first. Gonna try to drop by the police station to see Inspector Todd
Got back this afternoon. Ended up being super busy hobnobbing almost the entire time morning to night so I didn’t have any time to see anything. I did go to Highlands, restaurant/event place on the 71st and 72nd floors of the Renaissance Center twice for networking events. Fantastic views. https://www.highlandsdetroit.com/ Detroit was a lot nicer than I thought it would be, people were pleasant and the temperature was in the 50s during the day.
You were busy hobnobbing so didn't see anything, but it was a lot nicer than you thought it would be? I laughed. I was just thinking - you should've gone to Hamtramck and worshipped at the shrine of Rudy T. lol. No joke, a friend sent this to me today and I about died laughing ("Detroit vs. Everybody!!!!"):
Ok, fair. I walked around downtown a bit to find a market to buy some semi-healthy snacks and fruit, paid attention during my uber rides and talked to all of the hotel stafd. So I guess I saw a tad as I wasn’t completely self absorbed while I was there.
