If he wants to win another ring that's what he's going to have to do.

I'll take my chances with proven young bats Lowe/Walker/Robert.

If you dont take chances there wont be rings.

Then take a chance on Melton like they did on Pena in 2022.

Since he faked his death and attends every home game, how about Ken Lay Field

I would rather get above avg MLB bats and take my chances with young guys as reserves. Maybe keep Dubon in a utility role and move Leon up to the 4th OF role. A guy like Meyers was a mendoza level player for every month but one month of the season. Plus Leon can play several different positions. Keep Singleton as a bench bat and give Whitcomb a shot as a bench play. There's plenty of depth.

Then hope guys like Matthews (Another guy that can play all of the inf/OF positions) Melton, Baez/Cole etc.. will be ready by the all star break. Then you've also got depth pieces like Cabbage and Kissinger. That's plenty of depth if you let Meyers, Chas, Urquidy etc... go. I'm betting a couple of these guys will perform well and the bench will be better than last years bench players after the all star break. Also Dana should be able to get a couple of decent bench players or a solid reliever for Pressley/Caratini.

Give me the proven bats over the fan favorites that struggled to break the Mendoza and were starting in playoff games.

How many rookies really contribute to championship level teams?

Give me playoff proven bats like Lowe/Waler over the hope that Melton becomes a better than avg bat in the playoffs. I just dont get why some fans would want unproven players on the team rather than proven players. This just doesn't make sense to me. Now if you want to have young guys like Singleton/Leon/Whitcomb/Melton/Kessinger/Baez as bench players then I certainly can get on board with this. Let them get experience coming off the bench. Dont count on them to be above avg contributors on a championship level team.

Let me ask you this? Would the team be better with Lowe in LF of Melton in LF next yr? Walker at 1B or Singleton? Robert in CF or Meyers?

None of those moves are realistic. Bregman and Kikuchi will get more money than that. Pressly is not worth Mullins. That prospect package wouldn’t net one of those Rays much less both. Sorry, try again.

One of these guys will most likely be ready and if they aren't then you can always find a cheap bench bat like Dana did last year with Heyward/Gamel etc...

That package would probably be very close to getting you Lowe. The Rays are said to like the Stros young pitching and Blubaugh/Ullola are very talented and it's been said they like Chas too. Seems like a fair trade to me. getting both Diaz and Lowe would mean adding Matthews/Melton to the trade and no way I give up that much and I doubt Dana will either. You would be gutting the farm system.

...we could repeat the signing of a Beltran-esque player and have a washed DH as the highest paid player on a championship team... why not?

I am sorry... but I trust the team more on developing players than signing players.
