I watched the debate - and Harris really beat down Trump. He spent most of the debate with his shoulders hunched and subdued. This debated mattered more than most because Trump and his social media minions had spent a month building up this idea that Harris would crumble at the debate and was stupid - when that didn’t happen at the debate, that made it double ineffective for Trump based on his promises. The cats and dogs and Haitian jokes are being made, but Trump said about 10 things that would have been made fun of. Now Trump and DeSantis are trying to shift to another assassination attempt to change momentum and so far it really isn’t working - but we may not know for another week really. Either way, more precious time lost for Trump to change the narrative.

She got him so spun up that all she had to do in the 2nd half was just sit back and let him hang himself. You're right. The right made Kamala out to be either a moron or a paper tiger, and it blew up in their faces bigtime. They never saw each other in person, so it all came down to being well prepared and knowing your opponent. It involved not just hard work, but emotional intelligence to read your opponent, being quick on your feet to adapt, and having overall awareness to, in her case, not interrupt him (letting him have the last word).

The problem with Trump is I don’t think he can do that. Even the debate with Biden Trump lied and was very negative. That Biden looked so lost the focus was on Biden’s lack of performance than on Trump.
