Morey has low balled so many players in the past ..... this time they are on the cusp of maxes.......nothing new. But at least release a statement in 5 days ......
Jalen thought he caught up with Alpi during the summer only to be hit with the Harden rip-through, high kiss off the glass lol
As much as I want him to be our franchise player, he just doesn't fit into our Jalen-centric offense. I really don't want to see Alpy leave, but this is a very difficult situation. I'm not sure how we can keep him and at the same time be financially sound and make everything work. In any case, once a Rocket, always a Rocket.
Why do we run a Jalen Centric offense? Literally one of the most inefficient scorers in the game, the fact that we keep doing it is crazy. Can we just post Alpi please?
Did you see Jalen during his March leap? It felt like he was taking on teams all on his own. I don't think we've ever seen that kind of dominance from a player in the history of the Rockets in a single month. So it makes sense that Ime is trying to mold him into the kind of player that he wants to be, and that should lead to some positive results. Alpy definitely has the talent, but Jalen is in need of a screen setter like Adams to carry the team in the playoffs. Having Alpy is a luxury of sorts, but it also makes him look like an expendable player. No franchise wants to lose their happy mascot, though. It's really hard to say goodbye to a player that we have drafted and developed.
There is a reason why the team is talking about extending Alpi now and not Jalen. Alpi will be here for at least the next decade while Jalen will have to prove he can play consistently well for the entire season. In case you missed it, Jalen played like pure crap for most of the season. He did play very well for the 8 game stretch in March against a bunch on tanking teams but then went back to playing like crap again when we started playing winning teams again to finish the season.
I totally respect where you're coming from, but I really think we need to look at how the Silas Era caused Jalen to regress. Since Silas was not a coach who could establish authority or make real progress with the players, it is hard to blame Jalen for that. What those 8 games have shown me is that once Ime starts molding him, Jalen's true potential will shine through. As Ime develops him into the consistent force we saw in March, we must be patient. Trust me, it's worth it to be patient with a player we've invested so much time in. He's responding well to that investment. Furthermore, we don't really have anyone on our roster that can replace Jalen. Our chances for success - and likely our future for the next decade - depend heavily on him.
Lmaoo did you just become a Rockets fan last year or something? That was no where close to the most dominant month in Rockets history.
You might have forgotten to mention a young chap named Amen as a running mate who opened up space for him. Harden consistently put up 35 and 10 or 40 and 10 and you have not seen that dominance? The NBA invented rules to counter him. Really?
