Add another artist to the long list of those requesting Trump to cease and desist playing their music.

‘Height of blasphemy’: Rufus Wainwright and Leonard Cohen estate oppose Trump use of Hallelujah

The estate of Leonard Cohen has issued a cease and desist order to Donald Trump, after a recording of Rufus Wainwright singing Cohen’s song Hallelujah was played at a bizarre campaign event.

Wainwright has also condemned Trump’s use of the song at the town hall in Oaks, Pennsylvania. The singer characterised Hallelujah as “an anthem dedicated to peace, love and acceptance of the truth. I’ve been supremely honoured over the years to be connected with this ode to tolerance. Witnessing Trump and his supporters commune with this music last night was the height of blasphemy. Of course, I in no way condone this and was mortified, but the good in me hopes that perhaps in inhabiting and really listening to the lyrics of Cohen’s masterpiece, Donald Trump just might experience a hint of remorse over what he’s caused. I’m not holding my breath.”

    MAGA mentality is so contradicting.

    Scenario 1

When MAGA folks proudly share tweets and photos of all the black supporters for Trump or black men supporting Trump.

    Scenario 2

MAGA folks calling all the blacks in crime related posts leftists.

    Scenario 3

When MAGA folks want to keep those black folks out of their white suburban neighborhoods.

No sir - I'm talking about 2019 when job growth and GDP growth were slowing and showing signs of weakness. This was masked by the pandemic of 2020.

    https://www.reuters.com/article/bus...-revised-slightly-down-in-2019-idUSKCN24V28O/

U.S. economic growth slowed a bit more than previously estimated in 2019 as the sugar high from the Trump administration's $1.5 trillion (1.1 trillion pounds) in tax cuts faded over the final year of a record-long expansion that came to an abrupt end in February in the face of the global coronavirus pandemic.
The Commerce Department said on Thursday gross domestic product increased 2.2% last year, revised down from the previously estimated 2.3% and also reflective of consumer spending that had begun to show signs of fatigue heading into 2020. The 2019 growth rate was the slowest expansion since 2016.
The revision to 2019 growth came as GDP in the second quarter of that year was significantly cut, reflecting downgrades to consumer spending and business investment in equipment.
Though growth in the second half was much stronger than previously reported, it was mostly driven by a shrinking import bill.
Growth in consumer spending was marked down through the last six months of 2019, indicating a loss of underlying economic strength even before the COVID-19 pandemic hit the United States

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/busi...omic-growth-slips-percent-pace-third-quarter/

The Commerce Department data show that consumer spending continues to power the economy, but business investment has now contracted for six straight months, falling 3 percent in the third quarter, the biggest drop since the end of 2015. In recent announcements, a number of companies have said they are pulling back or pausing investment because of economic uncertainty, particularly related to Trump’s trade war with China.

    why stop at 4?

    Scenario 4

Party of law and order.... votes for the felon over the prosecutor

    Scenario 5

MAGA "We're not all Nazi's and racists"... then don't run the Nazi's and racists our of their party.

    and there's so many more.

...and this could be the next President of the United States, again. IF he's reelected and burns it all down we deserve it.

Context: there was a medical emergency so they played music and had a fun intimate concert (according to people there, including reporters from ABC) versus the somber tone that happened once those emergencies happened. Left leaning media trying to spin it because they have nothing and it's quite apparent

Yes. What a fun intimate moment. It was like rainbows and lollipops.

Fun intimate moments is what the Trump campaign and and theme of his campaign is all about.

The amount of smoke blowing is insane.... this is like the BS reports before the NBA draft.

We have dealt with over a week of right-wing media claiming an all-out panic by the Democrats based on a single claim supposedly of a third person comment about the internal polling.

Now we have the Democrats coming back claiming that the Republican handlers are concerned about the mental state of Donald Trump.

Okay - whatever--- Ill be happy when this is over.

Flip a coin and call it in the air.

    It was weird.

I was able to watch a lot of it, but not all of it.

He took some questions - didn't answer some of them but answered others.

Then someone fainted and he asked for music - then someone else fainted - and then he went on like a 30 minute dancing spree while everyone looked on confused except Noel.

He didn't take any more questions the rest of the night.

It isn't a big deal to me, Trump "get togethers" are already not typical, and it was better than him making any stupid statements about people being r****ded or going after his political enemies.

There were people leaving though - but a lot of those people drove a long way, are senior citizens and likely were worn out by that point, I don't blame anyone for leaving.

It's pretty amazing that at nearly 80 years old Trump still does these. Not many people his age or him his shape could do them.

It is something for the Democrats to point to, but it doesn't make much difference in the race like 99% of the crap posted on social media.

That's what the ABC reporters and others were saying that were there, not me.

people who already don't like Trump will say anything he does is bad/not good/terrible, etc. It doesn't matter because more people care about more important things, which is why the closer we get to the election the better he does with polls and traditional democrat voters.

He's a Soviet-born American businessman who was associated with Giuliani and his effort to find dirt on Biden in Ukraine. He was convicted of making unlawful contributions (to US politicians while trying to influence US/Ukraine relations). I wouldn't trust him.

I agree that it doesn't really matter---- that is basically what I said.

As far as Trump doing better, lets see what percentage of the vote he gets, he has gotten 46% and 47% of the vote the previous times he has ran. He needs to get to 50% to win the EC most likely.... most models say that Harris needs to get to 51%. About 5% of the voters are going to decide the election.

More important things like economic policy?

Trump Crumbles When Pressed on Economic Policy in Tense Interview
The former president attempted to "weave" his way through an interview with Bloomberg News, but couldn't escape his own policy black hole

Bloomberg Editor-In-Chief John Micklethwait did not take it easy on Trump, and it quickly became clear that the former president has no conception of the mechanics of or the potential ramifications of the economic platform he’s running on. Bluntly, the former president was incoherent when pressed with real questions about his policies.

    https://www.rollingstone.com/politi...onomic-policy-bloomberg-interview-1235134459/

Also which ABC reporter said that Trump created a fun intimate moment?

Also forgotten was that Trump’s trade war caused problems in America’s agricultural sector. Many soybean and corn farmers lost foreign markets that they haven’t recovered from since.
