Why did he disengage with his block? Did the defender go under and push 76 aside? It looks like Green steps aside.
Yeah, that is abysmally bad. Like....even if you want to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he's thinking Dare is there to pick up the chip once he releases, there is literally no feasible reason why he should have released in the first place. He has nobody else to engage, and the Pats dropped back in coverage. None of what Kenyon did there makes sense other than just plain old sucking at his job. I will also say yesterday was the first time I saw visible frustration on CJ's face when he was coming off the field, and sitting on the bench. He was obviously frustrated because of his arm getting hit (and hurting), but that's on nobody but the O Line themselves.
Interesting... OL issues. Exotic blitzes galore this Sunday. Playing on the Lambeau grass won't help matters. Better have the right cleats.
Looks to me the defender went under and shoved Green to the side. I guess he expected someone, maybe the RB, to pick him up. Either way it was horrible and CJ is elite.
Grades after week 6 Tunsil - 68.2 Green - 48.0 Scruggs - 68.3 Mason - 61.9 Howard - 66.3 Blake Fisher - 45.8
Mason and Green should not be starting. They will get CJ hurt. We have viable backups that I truly believe will perform better in pass protection. Run blocking, I’m not too sure but we are not good at running the ball anyways except for few long runs. Question is does Demeco have guts to make that change mid season as he is player’s coach.
Green is shockingly bad. Game 1 left me impressed and thinking the guy had worked on his fitness level/craft and was ready to take the next step in his evolution, but he's actually taken 2 steps back. He blows assignments too often and has some base/foundation issues because he's pushed aside and dislodged too easy for an IOL. We have another guy who performed "OK" last year in Patterson we owe it to ourselves to give him a look. Shaq is starting to look his age.
Green sucked as an extreme reach on draft night and he sucks even more now. If you are drafting a guard in the top half of the 1st round he better be a cannot miss stud.
I have to say our OL is a colossal failure, when Green came back looking fit I thought there was hope, but he still sucks. So much $$ and draft capital invested, and the results are horrible. Mixon and Stroud can hide some warts but come on man, don't get CJ killed
To quote Jerome on Landry Lockers podcast “we need some white boys on this O Line.” Some corn fed farm boys from Weesconsin or Iowa. lol. In all seriousness (kinda) Green, Shaq and Titus need replacing. Spend a day 1 on IOL help and a day 3 on a project.
