ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Thunder 10/9/2024 (Preseason)

The biggest indictment of Jabari isn't that he loses his man at times or dribbles off his foot. It's that I go minutes without realizing he's on the floor. That's such a bad sign.

 

I would trap Jalen on every play if I was the defense. He throws lazy passes when he actually decides to pass and has been over dribbling when he should be swinging it to wide open players. Don't care if he makes or misses shots just wish he would play within flow of game and make effort on defense. Neither which he has shown he has improved on so far this preseason.

 

If we still play like headless chicken in regular season, we won't make playoffs this year.

Ime has to show what he has.

 

Are we really just looking at +/- ?!! Those other players are at least contributing in other ways. I just don't see how Jabari does anything well...

 

It was reliable. Patrick Ewing on that big round drum put down 20 and 10.

 

I want to see Reed play with Sengun and see what they can do in the 2 man game.

Thompson just commands absolutely zero respect from the defense outside of 5 feet. It's really hard to generate offense that way unless you have absurd quickness. Nobody that can run an offense right now without FVV

 

I mean it is the preseason, but you use the preseason to get ready for the season and Rox look like

Like I said the first game, the preseason takes are always something else lol.

The team looked like world beaters last pre-season and we look meh this preseason.

We already know that preseason is not very predictive of much, especially since some teams/coaches aren't even trying to win preseason games and are just looking at lineups, the health of players, trying things out.

I'm seeing Jalen coming off the screen to shoot a lot more I'm guessing that's something we want him to do a lot more of. I feel like we're intentionally targeting this the past game and a half with him.

Like people calling for them to give Sengun more post touches but why? We know it works lol and these are also high impact plays that can wear on a big man, why would we milk that in a meaningless pre-season game? What is there to prove with that?

I don’t mind because it’s preseason, but this should help people understand that Amen is not a pg. He’s just a willing passer with a high bball iq.

 

Well, it depends on what point you want to make from game to game...I see it mentioned OFTEN

That's true, but on the other hand, basketball sets aren't like football plays. Everyone knows what you're running. It's a matter of how good the players are at executing it.

 

Ain't playing that with you in the Preseason, tons of regular season games ahead.

With that being said, this has been one competitive Preseason game.

This...love the guy but, he.can.not.shoot...PERIOD .

 

Year 4 of rebuild, we still have no clear franchise players. Sengun is the closest but he has yet to develop a 3 pointer and it worries me alot.

Jokic was already shooting 35%+ by year three on 3 attempts a game.

 

I really like him.
