Dude, we talked about that, and I am sure if push came to shove I could, but my mom/dad would be mortified as well as myself. Getting old is not for the faint of heart but good for you for stepping up and doing that

    • re-instate the alternative minimum tax (which Trump had eliminated)
    • increase the tax rate for
      • tax entities making > $400K per year (which Trump had decrease)

You are a loyal person and you made a big sacrifice. If you ever screw up and get down on yourself - remember that you have done a wonderful thing as well.

As for what Kamala is proposing - will help greatly some of the same people that are not going to vote for her. Something like this should be bipartisan and it is crazy there is a lot of pushback.

I am a big supporter on stopping fraud - especially in the public sector. I have prosecuted fraudsters before and now I have to work closely with a number of doctors so I get to see it from the other side.

The Democrats have the last 8 years or so made targeting fraud and collecting the funds involved a priority. I think it is admirable, but I also believe that it isn't as simple as some Democrats believe, and it isn't as big a problem and some Republicans believe.... the problem is that it can cost as much or more in oversight than what is collected. Some degree of fraud is inevitable, and because there are so many actors and moving parts - it is hard to snuff out.... it is like the mob, they expect a mobster to skim a little, but don't get greedy.

I believe that AI will help some - and I will say that when people get greedy, they get caught now.

We just have to accept a certain level of fraud -
