I absolutely loved it. Joaquin is incredible once again. Felt like the perfect continuation of part one and the look (cinematography) and world once again totally stunning. Perfect, no - but really damn good. Kinda amazed that this was even made but I’m glad it was.

    Basically.

They made a lot of money on the first one and they figured it would be hard to screw up another one- fans would watch it anyways.

Phoenix and Phillips don’t live in the real world- so they made a musical. They knew it wouldn’t make a lot of money but they wanted to make art and felt they could do it…

It overall is being portrayed as a massive POS. Really it was just “meh” - the fat Mountain Dew neck beard incels that loved the first were never going to see a musical - So we got this movie without an audience and I am sure at some point we will hear it’s some inside joke between Hairlip and Phillips.

The last blockbuster musical cost $150 million and was a Spielberg movie which did not turn a profit. Are WB even trying not to lose money?

Except it was not a good musical. The songs made no sense. Even the critics didn't like it. It wasn't good art. I don't know what it was. I also don't know how they spent 200 million on it.

There was no big action scenes. No cgi. There were like maybe 3 sets.

I'm not saying it's high are or well done - I'm saying that they THOUGHT it was high art.

movie bombed like a MFer at the box office

I really liked the 1st one, but I have no desire to watch this film…maybe I’ll check it out when it gets on Netflix

    32% audience score on RT

I wonder who’s getting fired for this failure?

I tried watching the first one and I was so bored watching a sad sack movie that I turned it off after 10 minutes. Went ahead and read the plot in Wiki and it seems this one is another failure.

The penguin in the other hand is a brilliant TV show. Surpassed my expectations so far.

No sequel was ever needed, but especially not a sequel where they just make the first movie completely unnecessary. First movie was really good with a couple top-notch, A+ scenes. This sequel sounds like it just ***** all over everything that mattered in the first movie. I think it was just hubris that led to this disaster. Haven't seen it and I never will. I'll just lie to myself and say the sequel never happened.
